    On most cars you can actually shift fears without the clutch, the only time you really need to use the clutch is when starting from a dead stop. Given most Americans fail to master a clutch at all, I suspect this technique probably isn't very well known there.

    Have they fixed the font size issue? When I tried it last on my HTPC both Gnome 3 and Unity handled font size terribly which drove me to MATE...

    While all those are good points it's probably worth noting that macmame (i think that's that's what it's called) runs abysmally on most macs as well, it's nowhere near as polished as on windows, the sound tends to be stuttery and graphics performance is quite poor, presumably due to the high overhead of OSX. In fact, Lame for Linux has it's share of problems as well, in particular lack of a good front end.

    CVTs are a daydream, not going to happen. When was the last time someone went to a garage for a repair and they broke out a welder rather than just replace a panel? What are you driving, the last of the V8 interceptors?

    A friend of mine hadn't bought a TV licence for about 5 years, at the time they were roughly £100 a year as I recall. I think he was fined £50. Of course they expect you to buy a licence after being caught.

    How am I denying information to you when I actually told you exactly how to avoid GE crops? Let me repeat it: there are 8 species in the US that are GE: Corn, soy, cotton, canola, sugar beet, alfalfa, summer squash, papaya. Avoid those, or buy organic/non-GMO labeled items, and you avoid GE crops.

    That has to be the stupidest advice I've ever heard... Especially given the way you Americans love to shove HFCS into everything you can.

    But .. to be fair, it was recently noted that it was traditional methods of cross breeding that sapped all of the flavor out of tomatoes

    Because market forces (and ignorant consumers) dictated that tomatoes should be large, look attractive and have a high yield.

    How is cloning in any way akin to genetic modification? Cloning occurs quite frequently in nature you know. Don't try to follow up by using horizontal gene transfer as an example of genetic modification in nature, because it's not comparable for reasons that should be obvious.
