You clearly know nothing about the vinyl cutting process, the lathes are full of EQ and compressors because it's a bit of an art form to maximise the signal level on the disc.
Because someone comes along and can't work your MP3 player or computer and keeps pausing he music or skipping tracks? You can't beat shuffling through records.
Why else would they insist on buying the latest one as soon as it comes out? Not everyone is this obsessive/shallow, but it's a great market if you can get it.
The UK currently has a coalition government and if the Liberal Democrats weren't fucking it up so badly people would probably be quite happy with the idea, the fact that they have decided that being the smaller power makes them lapdogs rather than powerbrokers is due to their own dazzling ineptitude. "Much of civilised Europe" is pretty vague, looking here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_with_coalition_governments it doesn't look that way.
Even the technical folk can't update a lot of the phones, the ROMs just aren't available, I've been waiting for a working 4.0 ROM for an HTC desire, but it's been confirmed that it's never going to come. The situation is really pretty shocking and it's going to come back and bite the developers before too long.
I do, I also understand I have EXACTLY the same problem with windows and a Blackmagic video card that loves to be the primary audio device even though I don't want it to be. I also understand (as I suspect you do) that this is more likely due to the audio driver than any flaw in the system.
You just acknowledged your complaint wasn't valid, you found the answer in the sound settings! You're just so keen to complain about Linux that you'll talk nonsense on here about.conf files (every windows users fear).
That's a pretty cold assessment I think, if you've just been paid for the first time in 3 years, it probably feels good to buy yourself something nice so at least it feels like you're working for something. It would be pretty depressing to live just as poorly as before because you gave every penny away to pay off old debts. Still don't let that get in the way of your being judgemental.
This sounds like utter bull to me, I use Linux mint and set the output to HDMI through the sound menu after install, it took me 2 seconds to figure out from the menu itself... Never had a problem with it since.
I've seen quite a few problems with sound on Windows on Windows 7 from a clean install with a Realtek ac97, probably one of the most common sound cards in existence...

It won't run Waves software.
Consider yourself lucky you didn't have to try and get the flaky hardware working in Win7!

You can't kill something that never existed...

15m HDMI cable solved this for me quite easily.
Your i7 probably runs of a ~750W supply, you have desktop PCs that draw 0.75W?
I played all the way through skyward sword recently upscaled to 1080 on an i5 2500k and it was flawless...
I'd like to see marines out defending the rights of Westboro baptist church to protest the funeral's of dead soldiers. I guess you would too.
What? Industrial plant? Have you actually seen any industry?
Because it's not working with Linsux it won't be hackable. /MStroll
It's amazing that windows 8 supports it spontaneously, possible proof of evolution?

WTF, "ganjadude" trying to tell us Bush is worse than Obama? It's going to be one of those topsy turvy days isn't it...

This is called Aristocracy and has a proud place in history!

It's installed by default, you don't need to apt-get it, just sudo run it from the command line. You're welcome!
Remember what happened to J.F. Sebastian.
More like the less you have to do while driving the easier it is to ignore everything...
