I'm on a family plan with my family and when you divide up the cost, I pay $52 a month for unlimited data, unlimited texting, 200 of my own anytime minutes (with rollover), unlimited nights/weekends and unlimited mobile-to-mobile

That's nice. How Many are on that "family" plan ? 4 People ?

Guess what, if you are 2 people, the cost goes to 104 a month PER PERSON. Or single, It goes to 208 a month.

Regardless, Yes. For a family plan, per person you are going to pay MUCH LESS than a single user contract. That's what people call a "DUH" moment. However, For my "dumb" phone, I pay 35 a month (with taxes in that amt.) and I have only ONE time come close to using my minutes (3000 N/W 250 DT) because, Unlike many with cellphones, I only use it when I have to call someone to speak with them (no texting/etc.) and I don't use it constantly.

  4. Re:Keep up or shut up on Should Younger Developers Be Paid More? · · Score: 0

Be that as it may, it's nearly always the case that you can increase your salary faster by keeping your skill set current and job-hopping than by staying in the same job, whether you keep your skill-set current or not. When you get a response like this from your management, the right thing to do is to figure out how to make yourself more valuable, and *change jobs*. Your management already knows what you're worth, and the only way they'll ever learn otherwise is for you to decide to leave. When you do that, they will either correct the discrepancy or let you leave.

Gee.. Job hopping. There is this REALLY neat thing called benefits (that you get ONLY after you've been at a company for some amount of time). This cool thing called a "Paid Vacation" is something else you only get after some amount of time.

I'll tell you this, when I interview I see someone who has been job hopping, I'll avoid them like the plague they are.

However, that still shouldn't be much of a concern because the US often agrees not to pursuit the death penalty as a condition to extradite someone from different countries.
