What are the future plans for people who live in an apartment/condo/mobile home/rental homes for charging? I couldn't put a charger in my old condo the electrical wiring wasn't set up for chargers, and there doesn't seem to be an reason for rentals landlords to put one in. Any solutions?
About 15 years ago I HAD to have Lasik. My prescription was so heavy at 7.75+1.75 on my worse eye and 7.25+1( I think?) on my good eye, that my work in autocad was suffering. Working in the Civil engineering field, I had a black background with Blue for water lines, brown for sewer, white for street center lines & property lines, etc on screen. My glasses were so thick that a white line would break up into its RGB components. A vertical line would appear to me as three too close water/power/sewer lines! I had the older physical blade type lasik. Now my vision is 20/35 but I have a LARGE number of halos, star bursts and slight double vision from headlines on cars, the stars, the moon, ect. I don't regret it as I live in Las Vegas, and there is way too much light pollution to make it viable to star gaze. I don't plan on having it touched up as I am a HEAVY reader and when I get older I want the monovision option open to me, and I will go back to glasses for the 40-60's age in my life. My doc said that due to the thickness of my corneas, I can only get 2 vision fixes until it is too thin to work on.
That a copy of someone is a new person, is more of a belief then truth. I think that a accurate copy of my mental state, is me. Yes the copy would diverge, but at first either of me could die, and yet I would survive. (Notice that such a foreign concept has grammar issues?) See Wil McCarthy's Queendom of Sol Series about a human grade fax/matter printer. Backup's, multiple instantiations, form changing, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W...
I know you said above you would avoid back scatter x-rays, but what about the cumulative dose from back scatter, AND the luggage scanners. It seems like there is a push from management at the TSA not to track the dosage the employees receive. Do there regular TSA agents feel this is OK or do they want some from of tracking? Have you done some checking on the dosage based on machine type and manufacturers documentation?
My ftdi on my arduino does have intermittent upload errors when used inside of VMware. I can live with it as it does a crc check. If your H/W S/W doesn't error check you might want to avoid that combination.
I prefer Solidworks over Autocad.
Solidworks - A Windows application with a 3D solid design for a final product.
Autocad - A DOS application converted to Windows, with a 2d design, and 3d as a added on much later in development.
I have 7 years experience in Autocad, and I found it somewhat easy to transfer to SW. Solidworks usually will output a good STL for use on my companies Connex 350 Resin Multi-Material 3d Printer. but be warned, all CAD programs have their issues.
Both taking classes on how to use the software, and having a copy to "play with" are critical to figuring how best to use the software. Community College classes qualify you for the %90 percent or so student discount. Also in my job my designs are propitiatory, so I can can't post them online, but if you if you can post it, there are many people who will help you though the design challenges.
Screw threads are particularity tricky as SW treats them as a cosmetic feature, and you have to make them by hand. The book "Machinery's Handbook" is a good resource.

Unlike many here, I do plan on buying it, but it will be SHELFWARE. The price is too good to pass up as insurance. I can see them saying only Win8 can be upgraded to Win9. I have NO intention of running it however.
Also consider the music being released. I am working on completing my Beatles collection. The only new one I know is Justin Beeber, and that is to avoid him. I AM expanding my taste in music, but it is the older well done music, not the current Autotune boytoy that looks good, but can't sing. Tom Petty would NEVER make it in today's music system.
Why get "new" remastered updated 3d version of Star Wars? I want the version where Han shot first. E-bay or nothing. No new sales are possible on that one. I don't want Battleshit the Movie. I AM back filling my collection of TV with Andromeda and Monty Python. 2nd hand is great for that!
As a ex RadioShack employee, years ago I was forced to sell used and returned computers for full price. On the fly I came up with "We sell used computers AT NEW PRICES!" Nothing says it was New, it was ASSUMED by you that it was.
It would also seem like you could have a Dr working in an VR setup relaying his arm/hand control data to a remote human robot. That would allow for a neurosurgeon in NY to have a untrained remote "hand droid" in Antarctica, orbit or the moon do the surgery. It keeps the number of human onsite low.
I just set up a server with Nexenta Community Edition. Free for 18tb of storage. My system is:
Dual Xeon 2.8Ghz
16Gig Ram
1.5TB HD x 8
Dual GigE
Adaptec Raid 5805 Controller, used as Sata controller only, NO RAID, each drive shows as separate volume for Nexenta to manage.
I went with the Nexenta for two reasons:
1. Inline Deduplication
2. ZFS setup with Raidz-2 for dual drive failure without loosing data.
I am demoting my Drobo from primary storage to backup storage, as it only has single disk failure without loosing data.
With DeDupe on I am getting write speed in the 40-60MB a sec range. Not quite as good as with the Adaptec in Raid 6 mode, but the dedup is very much worth it. My USB drobo was giving me the occasional transfer error, and corrupting my data. I did a verified copy onto the Nexenta and with ZFS end to end checking of CRC's and monthly error check and correction I HOPE to stop bit rot. With a 8TB data store, across 80gig drives to 2tb drives of various ages, it was time to consolidate, error check and correct. Just my 2 cents as I outgrew my drobo.
On the Android platform, Angry Birds is ONLY available as a ad supported game. There is NO pay version. I don't know how much AB gets in revenue, but I'd bet they get MORE money from the "free" version with ads, then the paid one on IOS with out ads. Corporate Nintendo probably has NO idea how to compete with free for the long term.

Looks good on my desktop, but in longer threads like this, you have to scroll down to get more comments, then scroll down and get more comments. I liked the V1 that kept that, and the full/limited/hidden option on your screen at all times.
Hmmm, on Sprint I was able to block EITHER or BOTH of:
1. Phone to Phone
2. Internet SMS
I ended up blocking just 2 to stop spam, but anyone with a phone can still text me. I did have the option of blocking all texts also. Sounds like you got a bad carrier and/or rep who did not want to do that for $ome rea$on. My carrier works for me.
From the article, it looks like Skyhook is Wifi based, not GPS. Wifi is possible to fake, by changing the mac address. If you are in europe, and want US market access, just find a mac located in the US, update your wifi to the US mac, and you now appear to be in the US. The Google market place is location dependent, and there probably contracts that make sure you buy in the right location. I doubt Google had much choice in rejecting it based on pre-existing contracts. Is skyhook difficult to spoof? Jam? GPS is much more stable. As far as I know, you can JAM GPS, but with needing multiple satellite (mine says 5 sats minimum) I don't of anyone who can tamper with it and change your apparent location with a external signal.
Not sure I'd trust the onboard nicks due to Intel management security holes. The primary Intel NIC is now worthless.
45mph not mpg!

Sorry no, there is OSx and OSx Server, although it has been neutered in the most recent release.

For this reason alone I was glad about the switch to HDTV. ALL NTSC CRT's are annoying and I had to turn them up loud to mask out the whine.

The Palm Pre and Pixi have optional wireless chargers, and as I had a Pre, I can say it worked great and the charge time of wired vs wireless was almost the same. With a new back holding the charging coil, the weight was almost nothing on the phone side. Put one in my car as a mobile docking station, and loved it. Now if they only put a EVO sized screen on a Pre it would be perfect. http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/handheld/categories/palm/1/accessories/FB300AA%2523AC3;HHOJSID=hq1gMTPGvpKRTN0tQbjCQ3rSrlHvwSLRkPkz5579v79zvbKdqTJL!1977121832
