i've been getting frustrated with Barnes and Noble. They have been changing into more of a toy store than a book store, but now i feel like going and buying something from them.
i'll have to look up what the 4th book in the john carter series is.
I started off as an computer science student, but switched to engineering. time and again, i asked to take C rather than Fortran. they said C was just a passing fad.
direct engineers at my past employers for about the last 10 years have had to undergo evaluations every year. this has never weeded out the bad engineers. it only succeeds in lowering the moral of all of them.
If you dont mind maintaining legacy code or systems then those skills will always be needed. If you insist on new project development then yeah it's time to either learn what is current or get off the pot.
my guess is that clones and compatibles (bricscad, cadopia, progesoft,,,) are making them nervous. people are starting to realize there are other, cheaper options.
I've done an analysis and determined that the more the terms "denier" and "alarmist" are used the more there is an increase in hot air. as we all know hot air leads to global warming.

I hope they get the one about subdividing parking spaces using white lines.
i'd really love to see that one put to the test.

it's not a matter of it being fastest, it's about options.
Attacks in the IT world tend to come in the form of software patents or claims of stolen code through a proxy.
all the BSDs, Hurd, Reactos and other such projects only make for more moving targets.
if you use them or not, if you are impressed with them or not, they all still serve a purpose.
there will always be free options.
ever read what goes into Coke or Pepsi diet drinks?
Phenylalanine
"ADD/ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders can all be triggered by too much Phenylalanine in the daily diet"
in school we were taught to know how to find answers rather than risking remembering it wrong.
btw, that was pre-google.
