  1. cheap wireless unit for guitar on Making Your Headphones Wireless? · · Score: 2, Informative

you could try a very cheap guitar wireless unit. It'd be quite the hack, with a lot of 1/4"-1/8" adapters (and vice versa), but it'd work. My cheap wireless (a Nady Wireless One) has a range of about 1500 feet via a 235-ish mHz transmitter/receiver combo.

There's one here on eBay right now for $25.

You make a good point tho: you are being punished for a crime you don't commit. That's unfair.

It's funny, but Mr. Fraase just wrecked his whole bastardization of the music industry!

"... blames this downturn not on the economic recession ..."
Yes, the economic downturn where the comsumption share of GDP only decreased by very negligable amounts.

"... not on the crappy music ..."
It's a simple fact that no matter how crappy the music is, people are going to buy it. Just look at <insert whoever it's cool to make fun of nowadays>.

    "but on Internet piracy."
This does seem like the logical end, doesn't it? I mean, nobody wants to be a criminal and so it's easy to justify our actions here, but I know I'm buying at LEAST 10% less CDs now than I was five years ago before I got my first CD-R.

We can't be pirates and then turn around and act all snippy when someone accuses us of being so.

Perhaps that last bit was a crass generalization, but you get my point...

it's a one-time thing. $150 from one year, none ever again. The government's plan is to help roll out the access. It doesn't (I hope) include maintainence and re-development after the cable's been laid.

However, Even with only 2/3 of all Canadians paying taxes, it'd only be $200 ea. That's how much the Ontario government gave back in tax rebate cheques last year (with litte end economic result, btw). That money would have been good in health care or education, too, but.... I guess the point I'm trying to make is that there's lots of places that money could come from to help out those two very underfunded programs.
