I'd also recommend the Monkey Island remakes... The new graphics are nice and still 2-D, moreover, they have the option to switch back to the original graphics and midi music for geezers like us wanting to have a little bit nostalgia.
Secondly I definitely recommend Day of the Tentacle. It was and still is my favourite for point and click adventure genre... Might be because I've spent an entire semester in my youth trying to solve the puzzles:) (My English was terrible back then) However, the graphics might be somewhat outdated, 320x240, if only they also remade it like MI series...
You're right that having a name alone is not enough. In order to show that you are indeed yourself, you have to provide a picture, some real information about yourself, and add some real friends... A double edged sword here.
There should be a nice GUI which tells about the things that are sent to Canonical, and there should also be an easy way for new users to turn it off...
All characters are also the same size as CAPS so it feels like their websites are shouting at you.
I agree with that, but that is looks like that is the only way they can represent readable Kanji characters on computer screen. Making them smaller and lighter will make them indistinguishable.
On the other hand, this might have something to do with default japanese fonts we use, maybe there are better alternatives out there. Higher dpi fonts, perhaps?
You are right, but, most of the time we do not read the whole 800+ pages of a textbook. IMHO, printing out the parts that require studying would not cost much.
And, since it will also be available online, we wouldn't have to carry those oversized books everywhere.
I will never ever go to a movie theater to watch news or a talk show... I can watch them at home freely, and the joy of watching them (if there is any!) would never increase on the big screen, putting aside all the effort to go to a theater.
However, if they can invent a game which would let 100 people play simultaneously on a single screen and can keep everybody playing for about 90 minutes, I might consider that.
If the technology goes to 3-D, and it looks it does, I believe they are on the right track making deals about 3-D projectors now, and they might make some money out of it until it becomes common in every new TV set.
I've been using IE7 and I switched to FF3 starting with beta3, and for me, the most awesome feature of FF3 is this new bar:) It is more than enough to stop me reverting back to IE.
Moreover, I didn't know that we could tag bookmarks, it is also a very nice feature, we can rename websites as we wish:)
As an engineer myself, I don't think that space budgets should be decreased. However, by lowering the costs and having more projects, I hope, it will increase support for space missions among politicians and people.
I remember that in old times, there were programs to merge the bandwidths of two dial-up connections.
It sounds silly now to increase bandwith from 4kb/s to 8kb/s, but, if you have a spare line, you can try this as a last resort...

Fantastic innovation, but doesn't look aesthetically pleasing. Looks like you have a two legged spider between your legs ...

I also liked the Feedback button, a simple and easy way to report bugs and give thanks :)
Yes, it is possible to revert to original look by disabling "tabs on top". It is also possible to disable/enable menus.
However, I liked tabs on top of the addressbar, feels more intuitive.
Seems they haven't forgotten to reply the question "what is the meaning of life?" in a geeky way
I, for one, welcome our new humidifying, oxygen-producing, aroma-emitting, and kinetic functioning flower robot overlords!

Since Naruto is also very popular in the US, why not? It also sounds like gamma ray :)
