I have a ton of vinyl too.. but I buy vinyl to listen to it on vinyl.. otherwise I'd buy it on CD.
What I was arguing was this guys holier-than-thou comment of:
"I've got a huge CD collection, so it's far easier for me to just d/l the songs that I want, rather than encode them myself. As for the people that just want it for free...I don't have that much sympathy for you..."
note-->"Huge CD collection" Which is why I responded as such.
Actually, I can see Sony and Nintendo settling their bitterness someday and joining together to make a joint console to ward off Microsoft. We have seen this already in the PC world.. all the other giants coming together so they too can profit in a Microsoft dominated world. At this point, it takes joint ventures to compete with Microsoft.
A Sony/Sega/Atari/TurboGrafix/ColecoVision/Nintendo system would be pretty sweet. It could be called Soegaturbcondo... or something like that.
If you already own the music.. why don't you just play it from the CD? Do you really need an mp3 version so you don't have to walk your fat ass over to your shelf of CDs?
NASA has an older Virtual ISS tour. I wasn't able to get the new one.. slashdotted already I guess. The old one is kind of weak.. I'm not suprised they made a new one. But its worth a look if you can't get to the new one.
Hah! ROB...Robotic Operating Buddy I think. You could play Gyromite with him. I actually have a ROB sitting on top of my television to this day.. he is wearing a red santa hat right now.. I suppose I should take that off him as the holidays are quite over.:)
I wonder why they didn't compare the Aibo to the Omnibot2000... well I don't really wonder why, but anyways. TOMY made an Omnibot 2000 that is just as rare as the Aibo.. of course it doesn't have the same market value.. goes for about $250 on ebay.
I couldn't find anything about it on TOMY's website.. but here are some links with info about it.. soon to be dead links I am sure.
"To the person who posted this comment, I don't think this community is for you. Many people have grown tired of the appearance of more and more trolls, who have nothing to offer this community. I myself have thought about leaving many times, and going to greener grass. "
Oh please. Trolls make Slashdot fun. There is nothing more entertaining than dropping your threshold to -1 for a few laughs. Instead of bitch and moan at trolls, why not raise your threshold? If you don't know how to raise your threshold I don't think this community is for you.
"If you are also tired of these trolls, and of the blatant bias and sheer overload (of posts) the authors of this site are showing on Slashdot I would like you to check out Kuro5shin.org "
So posts should be censored? If you believe in censorship, I don't think this community is for you.
To add to your point; If I am not mistaken, we see a glimpse of a bare chested Juliet in the film during this same scene. The actress who played Juliet, Olivia Hussey, was 17 when she starred in the film.
The LA Times writers really need to polish up on their segue skills. They went from child porn to phone service regulation in no time flat.
"Producing or selling child pornography is punishable by as much as 15 years in prison. Possession of such pornography can lead to as much as five years in prison.
Meanwhile, the court agreed to take up two regulatory cases that will help determine whether many consumers will ever have access to competitive local phone service and high-speed Internet access via cable television"
How can you say that Amazon's "Best of the Millennium" awards is a crock?! I mean.. do you really think that in the past 1000 years, there are more than two musical compositions which are superior to the Backstreet Boys album, "Millennium"?
Surely if Beethoven could have produced such a beautiful piece of music like "I want it that way", he would have ranked 3rd rather than 10th on the list! Amazon knows their music!
Devices like this may stop you and me from purchasing them, but I doubt this kind of thing is of any concern to the average non-nerd user. It is not going to stop people like my parents from buying.

"They claim they will develop ethical guidelines to determine when to clone and not to clone."
I imagine something like this in small black print:
*note- ethical guidlines may be waived for a $50,000 fee

That is a shame.. If you had taken better care of them you could have put them on sale for $9500 on Ebay and watch no one buy them.
