I've had pretty much a near-perfect run with Logitech equipment. Currently I have the following logitech gear at home: a Harmony 1100i universal remote, an Xbox360 Guitar, a g15 v2 keyboard (which as mentioned above, is dirty, but still going great), a g500 mouse, a pure-fi express iphone dock, and a webcam. There's also a couple of other logitech mice on the kids computers. All of which I've been very impressed with.
In a professional capacity, I'm currently typing on a logitech k120 keyboard and using an ergonmic mouse. Though I have used the mk510 and mk710 desktop sets in a previous job - and they are the only devices I've ever purchased from logitech which failed to impress me, and that was mainly due to the key shape on the keyboard.
Might have to give that a try, have been wondering about the accumulated crap between the keys for a while... though I did see this and considered getting it...
No, race doesn't come into it - whilst Xzibit claims to be a musician, the drivel he produces is insulting to anyone with any form of taste in actual music.
In the last two years, I have:
Retrieved data from a 160gb disk that wasn't detecting by freezing it overnight in a sealed plastic bag with several silica-gel dessicant sachets in it;
Replaced the controller board on a buzzing 1tb disk with one from an identical model drive (not from ebay, but a similar site) and retrieved 100gb of important data when the backups turned out to be invalid;
Removed a 500gb hard drive from a broken external USB case and replaced it into a new functional case, with all data intact.
So yes, it can be done, and several data retrieval companies wanted thousands of dollars to do it for me (and my family/friends).
... such as? the froyo phone I had at my last job had less features than my 3gs... not to mention was bogged down with horrible and useless shit from both the manufacturer and telco.
What if the Mac in question has Windows installed on it? Surely that's vulnerable too, unless there is a hardware layer which prevents the virus from getting onto the shiny... or are we going to clarify a Mac running OSX can't get Windows viruses?
One of my former IT managers had zero experience in IT when he took over running the department. He was a geologist by training, with experience in a corporate services department. Lasted all of 7 months. They then handed the IT department over to the HR manager. I left 2 months after that.
Colour me a non-American, but how is New York City's budget paid for by your federal taxes? In Australia, income taxes are collected at the federal level, and don't get apportioned to city councils - they have to levy their own taxes/rates etc.
Why bother with an invasion of privacy case when they can go for the bigger fish? They are about to go after Google for tax evasion - a few politicians were (rightly) outraged when it became public knowledge that Google only paid $74k in tax on the multiple billions which Australian people and companies paid to them for services provided in Australia.
I too voted greens. And will probably vote that way again, in the vain hope that somehow, in this safe Labor seat, it makes a difference. Sadly, I doubt it will.
I love my 10 hrs per week on the train - it gives me the opportunity to do 10hrs per week of reading, which when I was driving to and from work, I didn't have. In the last 5 years, I have read around 400 novels, and I arrive at work in the mornings in a great mood, as opposed to spending 1hr in traffic and arriving at work stressed out because 100 people have cut me off and nearly killed me. Similarly for getting home - I arrive home relaxed, instead of stressed out.
When I do have the occasion to work a full day from home (rare, but it happens) I end up working a 10hr day, and find myself missing that reading time.
Netflix and Amazon Prime aren't available in Australia - which leaves Torrenting. I'm all for it, but my wife and kids like being able to switch on tv, flick till they find a channel showing something they like, and watch it. I prefer to know exactly what I'm going to watch when I sit down at the TV, and would be happy to disconnect the Foxtel... but a happy wife and kids is important to me.:)
I'm Australian, I have Sattelite TV (foxtel) for $70 a month (because my wife and kids like it), and don't have access to watch Game of Thrones and Fringe, the two shows I actually give a fuck about. If I want to watch Game of Thrones, I need to upgrade to the $100/month package, and then watch it at the time they specify.
Fuck that. I pirate Game of Thrones, and Fringe and buy the box sets when they come out.
More countries need to follow Iceland's lead!

whereas my G15 v2 is awesome!

Only if you want to spend money with Apple. I'll stick with building my own, or using a laptop from a brand where I can upgrade it if I want.
You should've gotten the Harmony 1100i - it's so easy to just put back on it's stand and have it recharge every night ;)
Of course not. The MAFIAA weren't calling for his blood!
How should they be punished?

Funny you say that, since I'm typing this on an Asus laptop at work. This is the third company I've worked for where Asus is the brand of choice...
Having had to use Yammer at my former job, I don't believe Yammer to currently be worth $1.20, let alone a billion times that!

;)
If that's the case, why are laptops mandatory at my daughter's high-school?
True, yet the most relevant it's EVER been on /.

Irony: a user called SluttyFuckingThomas spamming about a product called MyCleanPC.

I was sure it had died the death of 10000 cuts... not to mention all those CDs people kept microwaving!
