Maybe because this is a State of Ohio issue and we have not realy had anything to do with the Bushes since Prescott was working with the Nazis out of Columbus.
Hi, Ohioan here. While We have a Democrat Governor now, and this happened on his watch, these are policies that were implemented during the Taft Administration, which is widely viewed as one of the most corrupt and incompetent administrations in Ohio history.
This has absolutely nothing to do with the Bush administration however, the blame lies squarely on the state and nobody else.
I got a Samsung 225BW 22" for $279. You can get the 19-20" even cheaper, and I honestly cannot really tell the difference between it and my old Dell P1140 when it comes to gaming.
Some of us have perfectly functioning older hardware that we have no wish to upgrade for whatever reason. Newer =/= better. Case in point, I am about to dig out a USB to PS/2 adaptor because my motherboard does not like to detect my trackball on boot. If I plug it into the PS/2 port, I KNOW it will be detected and working at boot. I also have no reason to dump my lasernet 5P, and really do not care to get a parallel to USB adaptor just so I can have yet another dodgy interface.
Yes it is worse, because this has been going on much longer than either of the incidents you mention, and there is no resolution in sight. Some would point to the 2008 elections, but I do not see much happening there. I think both parties have realized just how much they can actually get away with and will continue to do so until something puts them in check or we totally become a fascist state.
What this summary and headline state is that the current president is doing something new that is in direct contravention to the US Constitution, but in reality this is nothing new at all and is no more or less constitutional than what the government has already been doing for many many decades.
And herein lies the fallacy of this argument. You state they have been doing this for decades, and they have. However, this does not mean that it is Constitutional. This, and plenty of Executive orders (and laws even!) going back for many decades are not Constitutional. However, the Government does not care, and enough people do not care enough to do anything about it. All the Government cares about is maintaining itself and consolidating its power, and I would even say it has been such since about President Jackson or so.
Just because they have been doing it for so long though, does not make it right.
I wonder if this will be seen as a tipping point when historians will look back at how the United States became a fascist nation, or if it will be seen as just part of the slow decline that began with the Johnson administration.
This can cut both ways. I have worked at two small shops, and both were run by egomaniacal millionaire daddy's boys that would not know ethics if you beat them to death with them. One went as far as to forbid employees from associating with each other outside of the workplace and had the (technically qualified as a box of rocks) manager eavesdropping on our in work conversations and taking notes.
Then compile a kernel that does support them. I do not know anybody who is serious about servers that does not customize their kernel to improve performance.
Now is it just me, or does reliance on a package manager defeat one of the Biggest strengths of open source, which is customization. When I run Linux, it is a heavily modified slack machine. The reason for this is that I get a nice, tight base system in very little time, but I then have the freedom to compile my own programs from source at will, without having to worry about non-standard directory structures or breaking the system if I create an actual root account. If there is a package for it great, if not, I am not locked in, and I have yet to find a Linux app I want that does not have source.

LOL, sorry, Wrong Taft.
Until Bob, they were like our very own trailer park version of the Kennedys.

Works fine for me, on an MSI KT333.
DDR2 Prices are not bad. I just picked up 2 GB of DDR2 667 for $80 US.

You sir, are a raving asshole.
Oooh, you used to be the executive editor of an open source magazine. So what?
Depends on what games you played in what era, and what showstopping bugs they had.

I was speaking in terms of 500-1000 years, much like we study early Britain or the Holy Roman Empire aowadays.
Which only applies to currently serving military or militia forces.
I would like to see you carry on in society if all of your assets were frozen.
While it may not be out and out seizure, the effect is practically the same.
Looks like somebody should re-read the 9th and 10th Amendments.

Funny, Sweden seems to be doing rather well.

So, like anything else, YMMV.
But why learn a proprietary system to do it for me when I already know how to do it on my own?
Heh, it was the "old timers" like you that got me using slack in the first place.

Go buy a new pc without Vista.
Not really. My mother would lock ours when she grounded me, so I learned to pick the lock with a toothpick.
