  1. Problem seems simple on IPv4 Address Crunch In 2 Years, IPv6 Not Ready · · Score: 1

Necessity is the mother of invention. If/When the crunch does come, there will be a big push to merge to the IPv6 model, fix whatever is wrong with it (I'm not sure anything is, anyone?), segued with some fancy advertising for "new, improved" networks, some slick campaign ads, and next thing you know, we'll all be forced into buying $100 nics again.

    I can't wait.

    I went one further.

I received a call from a politician running for mayor or some jazz, an automated type. I patiently listened to this spiel, did a google lookup for his business number, called him and left HIM a message stating:

"Dear Sir, I have called to inform you that I am not voting for you, not because of your stand on certain positions, but because you have resorted to an automatic phone dialer. I will also recommend my friends, acquaintances, and co-workers do the same. Good day."

Special note: I would not do it for any other sales pitch, as then they would know "I was there".

This is because all the good developers left for google to develop traffic-density simulators based on cel-phone information retrieved from the telcos. The remainders just fling poop at eachother, complementing each other on how great they are, for getting the MS gig in the first place.

    Seriously.

We have all wondered in years past what would bring down the juggernaut MS. Well, we now know. I'm curious to see the damage caused by this dying thrashing beast. *IAA?

Probably the reason Muslims detest images of their idol, is because in reality, he didn't exist.

    Neither did Jesus

Just an old way to tax people, and keep them under the illusion of stupifying grandeur that is their god.

Sorry, worship whatever false idols you want on your own time, but don't pull a Mark Twain.

  10. Security on Antivirus Inventor Says Security Pros Are Wasting Time · · Score: 1

Hate to blow everybodies arse right off the map, but I don't use any anti-virus software at all.

I find it to be resource-hoggish, slow-loading bloatware that is better off-loaded onto a seperate processor. I say these things, because I actually know a dev lead at symantec, and I recommend this solution to him, and he said his company is already working on it.

Anyways, you're probably asking yourself, what is my IP, and how do I protect myself. I hide behind a good router, have a bit of a honeypot setup, and am very careful what I download. So, no russian pron for me.

Serious people, viruses are for suckers.

Well, thats why I said "Initial startup cost". I perhaps should have made the assumption that $110,000 would deliver a ready to go, robot at the pumps. Ready to pump on day #1

  17. Little Math on Dutch Unveil Robot Gas Station Attendant · · Score: 1

    I will make several assumptions
    1) Minimum wage is $5/hr
    2) The employer pays no additional benefits
    3) There are 260 work days in a year.

One employee would have to work 22,000hrs to cost the same as the initial startup capital cost of buying this machine. At 8hr/day, thats 2750 days. Ergo, thats ~10.5 years of labour.

Worth it? I've probably made some basic math error somewhere, that you guys will make funny of me for, so I'll say it now, screw you! :) :)
