I'm an old school gamer. Hands down, no questions asked, if any series EVER needed a reboot, there's only one to pick.
The old "Might and Magic" role-playing series.
Responsible for the more popular "Heroes of might and magic", this series, especially around games 6 and 7, included some of the most killer spells, weapons, and a HUGE world, especially for the time. From thief classes and assasins to Caveliers and Arch-druids, Liches, whether your party was half goblin warriors, or all dwarven villians, the game was nonstop fun. I kept going back to become a spy, cleanse a cursed temple, kidnap the princess, or help the necromancers destroy the kreegan devils.
Imagine an action RPG that you can pause into a turn-based RPG, swappable from a 1person to a 3rd person view, change it up so you have full control, perhaps something like KOTOR did... its a spectacular game series that was ahead of it's own graphics programmers. If any genre needs new life, its the Might and Magic RPG games. God how I'd pay to see MM6 and MM7 reborn.

Just spoke with a brother who lived in Guangdong for 5 years, says he had myspace correspondence with frineds just today.
Well, consider: if everyone had a free, open source "replicator" (for lack of a better word), imagine how easy it would become to make things like, gaming consoles. basic computing devices. A few years ago consumers became producers because of file-sharing on the internet. imagine if they became manufacturers.
As I write I'm speaking to a friend of mine who is a pretty decent gamer, a good computer programmer, and one-handed. This would be an interesting contest of wills for the both of us.
--Further, I certainly want to consider the implications of what this means for people who have been through serious traumas and need some work getting their minds to focus. Anyone who has been in a serious accident and has had some problems communicating or focusing may wish for this sort of thing, if nothing else, just to know they aren't crazy. (I imagine some strange things can go through your head in a situation like that).
--In any case, I agree: The medical implications of these games I can see as just as important as any physical re-habilitation processes. Not to mention the bridge they can create between your average, everyday gamer and the autistic brother or sister.
--Food for thought.
You make valid poitns. of course, if our ultimate goal is to progress and continue to push our graphical abilities to the limits, imagine the implications of ray-casting and photon mapping as far as holography technology is concerned. Granted the work in that field still has a long time to catch up, but being prepared with systems already storing the future necessary information can in no wise be a bad thing.
my two zinc's.
Is it just me... or has anyone else recalled that Ohio (occasionally florida and like 1 other state) is the state which tends to waver as far as presidential decisions go? (consider the election four years ago.) One "Special interest" covertly taking control of so specific a location, the inability to verify what was voted... and you have yourself a paid-for president.
Now... what kind of politician or political party would POSSIBLY do such a thing? Hmmmmmm........
First comment:
All I can think of is war of the 21st century somehow becoming a war between hackers. An amusing and yet frightening concept.
Second comment:
One step closer to Skynet. awesome.

The planet? it'll survive alcohol. Intelligent life, however, is in mortal peril.
