    EVERYONE? maybe not. Most? Definitely.

Should everyone learn how to start a fire by hand? Possibly not. Will it matter in the few times you have to do so? Definitely.
You use the example of people using a fork and being able to forge one. People may know how to use forks and there may be an abundance but, if there are none (or few); people won't care about forging "modern" forks but, forging will certainly be important. The same is true for paper; it isn't so much the exact material, it is the use.

Actually, I've impressed a few females with (a) the fact that my 46" plasma is hooked into my computer, (b) my computer is thusly connected to my surround sound system, and (c) I have movies that are still in theaters with a decent quality.

Why suffer through Twilight in the theaters when you can nail your date half way through the movie at home?

If you want to get technical, if you can get your date back to your house (which is required to see the computer) you are doing better than most "geeks" are expected to perform.

I agree with this 100%. I watch many streaming television shows and personally, I only watch what I want to watch. If anything, the open format of the internet will slowly destroy traditional cable/satellite providers. The internet is the most open and free (as in ideas) "television" I have ever experienced. Even if CNN, Fox, or other such companies place their broadcasts all over the internet, there will always be other sources to consult on the internet. Granted, the production value may not be the same but, truth is truth.

This article can very easily bring up much deeper ideas based on the findings. For example, how many other things do we tend to dislike (or enjoy less) because of a particular circumstance? This is especially true of first impressions. If you think back to your first impressions of various people, you may find a pattern arise based on your surroundings. Personally, I found a large bias against people I met in less than favorable conditions. After meeting with these people a few times after, I found I enjoyed their company. Similarly, there were people I favored during positive conditions that seemed less than favorable during normal conditions.

These findings may also alter restaurants as we know them (if restaurant owners actually pay attention/care). If a restaurant wants to increase the flavor of their food (and thus the number of customers that enjoy it), they may opt to use a bit more space for quieting the various booths. I know I would enjoy my weekly excursions for curry much more if I had a quiet booth in which I wasn't bothered. I, for one, would be willing to pay an extra dollar or two per meal to have booth dividers extend to the ceiling. I may even be willing to shell out a few more if I know I would get my own "personal" enclosed area to enjoy my food with a friend or two.

But, I'm not really surprised the lengths these "fake companies" will go. Money is a precious thing in this world and if you can't 'seem' to make it legally, you may just turn to crime. Even people who would have never considered doing something like this may be driven to new heights in desperation.

However, some of these people may or may not be the desperate, dirt poor, starving, "means-to-an-end" people I portrayed but, take a minute and think of the things you would probably do if there was truly, no other way you could think to survive in this messed up little world.

If I don't watch a television show it is because it sucks or I just don't have time. If I download it, I at least get to watch the good ones at my convenience.

If I download an album instead of buying it, it's because I am not paying $15 for one or two songs.

Let's face it, if an album, movie, or television show sucks enough that I am not willing to pay for it, then I am not going to pay for it. It may be download quality but, that's it.
