    It is the stupid democrats that don't want to upset the Martians: where ever they are now. They are afraid that the Martians will be unhappy if we take their land.

    The Martians have not used their land in years: A lot of years.

    I am tired of the democrats doing their stupid appeasement. 10 years-ago it was Saddam Hussein, next it was North Korea, Iran, and now it is the Martians!

    The universe is a harsh thing to live in. If they are not willing to fight for their land then it should be taking from them.

    The network with 5% in use cost the same as the network at 95%. It only starts to cost more when the network has demand over 100%. If your phone company set you up with frame relay, you pay for a QOS of some bandwidth (ex. 1mb/s, 5mb/s,...). They will let you use more then that but the packets get marked. If the network can't deal with anymore they start dropping the marked packets. You can even get a QOS of 0mb/s vary cheap.

    Deep packet scanning would put more load on the network, than if they just send the packet.
    There is 2 resows they do the scanning.
    1.) Outside of network uses. The Cable co. have to pay for the bandwidth to the internet.
    2.) Cable co. wants you to pay them for movies, and music. They hate youTube, and any other ways that you can see movies (copyrighted or not). Even if they block other things while blocking copyrighted things.

    Why can't they do it the way Frame Relay's work. Give you a bandwidth that you are willing to pay for. Then anything over that Bandwidth is marked with DE. If the network get congested, anything marked DE is dropped. The only thing is the Comcast would have to stop overselling the bandwidth.

    ATI/AMD has a chipset that does this: AMD 780. The 780G is real good. Can get like 10 FPS in Crysis.

    I have only used one "apple" that worked without crashing in under 30 min's. My lovely Apple 2GS! The apple every made. I submit that I have not trying OS 10. But the only reason that OS 10 is so good is that it is not MAC!!!!! It is NextStep BSD! If in 1998 Microsoft shipped a Win-Linux OS; would you talk about how great the Windows Koral is?! Remember what Jobs ones said: Think different; think like everyone else (just like me)!

    My motherboard says that it has DRM as part of it, so does my video card, and my DVD drive does not like my changing its regien. The drivers have it programed to "protract" with DRM.
    If most hardware has DRM built-in, what can microsoft say?
    That they will not let, MORE, drivers or hardware to work on vista?

    I copy my DVDs, that I payed for. Vista is more like Linux the XP. What does this say about people liking Linux?

    Yes Safari could do better, but lighting does not strike twice. Apple did good by going to OS10, but don't think they will do a lot more.

    The user has to tell the different from bad sites and the real site.

    If a girl called you saying they are from your bank asking for the numbers on your Bank card would you give it to her? ... okay, lets try it this way. would a person with a IQ above room temp; in Celsius? ... Is there anyone who would not fall for that?

    If you live in the Maryland area you would find the BGE is trying to get people to use less power. As nice as it sounds, they are not doing this out of their own heart. You may pay a simple $0.02 KW/h (0.07 MJ) to BGE (depends). As you use more power then BGE has already made deal for, the price to them goes up. The more you use, the more it cut into their profit.

    Places like where Google is running from, make most of, or all of their power. The price is cheap for them. I am too lazy to look into it but many areas the price for power is controlled by other groups. This makes them a lot like AT&T was; AT&T controlled the phone (before the crackup), but the prices had been low.

    BotSniffer, can capture network command and control protocols and utilize statistical algorithms to detect botnets. So it uses signatures.

    identify botnet command and control channels in a local area network. so you can't have a 10,000 botnet on a LAN.... Not that I would like some ISP to use this. Now some guy at Comcast will "fight the evil botnets". BotSniffer sounds like a kill the massage-girl thing.

    Normal network activities are unlikely to demonstrate such a synchronized or correlated behavior. A lot of automatic network activities are vary correlated.

    I know complaining over nothing.

    I don't care what they say about this or that company now (right Vs. good;wrong Vs. Evil Vs. bad). What has happen is done.

    They know what is the problem; the Test time. How likely are you to know if a domain name is going to be profitable in less then 5 days? They should just drop the test time, but they are thinking of charging a little fee.

    The bad guys will just add some bigger fee to their prices to counter it return fee. A lot of people out there will pay it. They go to the 1st site that will tell them how to "make your own web site". The site will offer some bad free hosting, and a nice "we get the domain for you; so you don't have to" thing.

    It they do this, it should be for only winME and below. There are to many windows 98/95 boxes out there that no one cares to update.

    Microsoft can use some of the well know vonbiles to fix the boxes that are no longer having new fixes being sent out for them.

    OR

    Microsoft could open source the old Win ME/98/95/.. source code. In less then a week two things will happen. The Open source community will fix all the old thing that Microsoft stop fixing, and someone will find a way to kill all boxes that are not fixed.

    The people who don't fix their boxes, will do one of three things. junk the boxes, go to Linux, or fix the boxes.

    Don't misunderstand me; I hate the cable people, but I understand where they are coming from. Verizon and other big phone people pay a lot less to be a ISP. The cable guy have to pay by how much bandwidth they use; Verizon does not. But you can look at it a 2nd way. Unlike cable, Verizon is required by law to have a very high uptime on phone. This uptime cost them a lot of money. By having this high uptime on phone, they are more likely to have a high uptime as a ISP. Cable does not have this add cost. In some areas they have up time below 90%. When I stop buying cable, It was going out at less 1 week every mouth. They got better in the last few years, but I am not going back. In summery: Cable should cost more become of Bandwidth cost, but less because of less reliability.

    We hate CAPTCHA. Most thing they do to make it difficult for computers to decode, make it a lot more difficult for humans to decode. Most of them are not usable by text browsers (dah), and the blind. Some have audio that is hard for people to hear, and sill easy for computer to decode. Last, CAPTCHA's are so over used that people just do them without thinking. For all you know that Porn/ware site is using you to do CAPTCHA for them. Not that it is needed. This is just one more nail in the CAPTCHA coffin.
