    I believe America has interest in their natural resources.

    The US is the third largest oil producer in the world and produces almost three times as much oil as Iraq. Iraq has more proven reserves, but lacks the infrastructure to get it out faster. And also lacks the stability to be able to set up shop, drill, and pipe it out.

    When you live in a culture where an officer can shoot someone in the back while running away and get off scot-free

    Possibly because it's legal. It's called the fleeing felon rule. If the person fleeing has committed a felony and is a threat to others, the officer can use lethal force to stop him. I'll admit I don't know the details of this case yet, but even if I did I wouldn't jump to conclusions either way just yet.

    Yeah, I often misplace things 40 years in the future, or more sometimes! You know how it is, it's a busy day, my mind is somewhere else, and poof! I can't find my command line application. So I just look up the number for every year in the future and start calling. I've called a lot over the years. If someone told you the 80s called and want something back, I'm sorry for bothering you.

    Bookworm is a compound word (book + worm = bookworm). Lidar is a portmanteau, like spork or satisfice. Lidar is now a backronym for Light Detection and Ranging.
