Yeah, I use gmail too. A lot. But what you and I do doesn't mean a damn thing when there's several hundred people opening these spam messages for each one that avoids it.
It's ridiculous to think that mail parsers mean spam is conquered. If it was, then the Mega-D botnet wouldn't have even gotten out the door. Yet it has. Until people are educated to avoid spam, it will never be conquered. And the lack of education is evident because this botnet easily contains a plurality of all spam messages.
So what's the end goal? A botnet that accounts for 99.9% of all spam? Not that that would necessarily be all bad; at least then we'd be able to unite our ire against one entity.
Why maintain the blog? Well, it occurs to me that this is an easy way to discount complaints from the populace. Eventually, someone or something is going to fly off the handle (possibly the Anonymous Legion), and they'll have an excuse to shut down public commenting. Then they'll make up some PR bull about how they tried to take suggestions from the people but the people weren't willing to discuss it civilly. And then go merrily on their way.
Of course, this is all worst case scenario, but the TSA has proven time and again that they're really good at worst case scenarios. So good that they're completely blind to everything else.
...mostly because that implies it was working at some point. Clearly it never has, because the telecos have been touting 1Mb connections as the wave of the future for at least 5 years.
Can I get that measured out in Dodge Intrepids? I need a car I can actively apply it to.
This commercial coming soon to a theater near you!
An ISP that isn't Anti-P2P? Does anyone have a contact in hell to see what's going on down there? I guess that leaves a bit of hope for the future...

If I have a 60" TV, and no one is around to watch it, does it violate copyright?

I suppose a small crank generator could be supplied to give short phone calls.

Transformers! Robots in disguise!
Oh that's easy. We're simply studying how the combination of 0s and 1s can result in the most horrid sounds known to humanity.
Make sure that when given the opportunity, you take the red pill.
