This is the best way to learn security, by applying the "book learned" concepts to the real world. In fact, this is exactly what we did for the final project in the Computer Security course that I took as part of my MS in Computing program at Marquette.
It also reinforced a very important concept -- people are the weakest link. We got the other group to send us passwords by faking an email in the instructor's name!
Check out this class site: http://www.eng.mu.edu/corlissg/198.2001/ T here is a lot of useful information including the required and recommended texts along with other resources.
When I was stationed in North Dakota we had a female pilot who demanded we use the term "flight deck" when she was flying. The alternative term we settled on was "Box Office"
You can imagine the response when she called in that the crack detector light was illuminated on her aiplane! (At the time the -135 had an acoustical crack detection system because of cracking in the wings)
Mr. Cringley states in his article that 7:00 pm Eastern time is Midnight (or 2400) Greenwich Mean Time. We are are on Daylight Savings Time so it is actually 8:00 pm Eastern and 5:00 pm Pacific time before the fun begins. Use your extra hour wisely!
There are rules as to how interceptions of aircraft are to be conducted. These rules are part of the ICAO treaty (International Civil Aeronautics Organization) China has signed this treaty. It is the responsibility of the intercepting aircraft (the Chinese fighters) to stay clear of the intercepted aircraft (the Navy plane)
Also flying two aircraft in close vertical proximity is extremely dangerous due to the the interrelated aerodynamic forces (THEY GET SUCKED TOGETHER AND COLLIDE!) Once again, it is the responsibility of the interceptor to stay clear of the intercepted.
I can't believe that the on-line sellers weren't aware of this! This was clearly mentioned in the book "Hacking Exposed". A blind monkey having a bad hair day could pull this off!

I didn't realize what I was doing! My wife and I have given this to our children at night to get them to go to sleep.

You could decorate the entire hall with them and I'm sure you could get thousands and thousands of them for free!
Hector wouldn't fetch, he wouldn't do much of anything, but he did like straight Tequila!
If you are really worried, boot your (Windows) computer from the floppy and type:
fdisk/mbr
That is a thermonuclear solution to termites but it is very effective!
Perhaps, Gaak, after recovering from his wounds, was feeling better and just went for a walk! (or roll)
