    This is my attitude towards "optical" coverage on my employer's plan. It covers so little as far as glasses, contacts, etc. that if you add up the premiums it is basically just a savings plan with more bureaucracy.

    That is how the SSN was originally meant to be used. But then along came a need for a global UID for people and whoosh all the promises went out the window. I will try the deposit route though next time I encounter that situation.

    Were you trying to imply narcotics trade or something like that? The world has a lot more in it than any one of us can imagine. That's my backhanded way of saying you are wrong. In place such as Argentina, there can be a lot of risk in exchanging dollars under one of the "cambio" signs, and the fees can be quite stiff. So they prefer to use bitcoin for a lot of transactions, especially where the whole transaction can be done out of country, such as contracting for online services.

    I'll take my chances with the US dollar thanks. I trust it FAR more than I do bitcoin.

    I know a couple folks who don't have the option of using US dollars thanks to their governments. They are doing a substantial amount of business in bitcoin instead.

    Why is it better to have to maintain a whole separate infrastructure of servers, protocols, and clients, when basic email does the job just fine? I can unsubscribe, suspend, and resume at my convenience now, I don't see why we would need another delivery channel. You could just as well say that interested parties should just go to the website when they want to know something.

    I have no mods, but thanks for this interesting point. I knew about coin clipping and such practices since coins were invented, I just never made the connection with how that might translate to modern times.

    Gross profit is not the same as net profit, and has little relation to selling at a loss. From the same article:

    the net profit margin of 15.12% trails the industry average.
