    Correct.

Clock frequency is worthless as a measure of CPU performance. Cores have never stopped getting faster.

For example: Each individual core in a 2.66Ghz i5-750 is more than twice as fast as a 3.8Ghz P4. Often many times faster than that, depending on the workload.

You are, however, still vulnerable to small arms fire and surface to air missiles.

They seem pretty safe to me. Notice that the 30mm shells take around 2 seconds to reach their mark. The Apache's 30mm cannon has a muzzle velocity of 800m/s. They were more than 1.5km away.

The effective range of an RPG is something like 500m and that's being generous. Their maximum range is also less than a kilometre, to the best of my knowledge. They explode in mid-air if they miss and go out of range.

AK-47s have a similar effective range. Not that such a weapon is effective against a flying tank like the Apache. These things can stay in the air after being hit by a 20mm cannon, small arms fire from more than a mile away isn't going to do anything.

The panel was talking about the 'hardcore' section of pc gaming. Casual games and MMOs are doing great and no one disputes that.

So? It's always the same shit with these windbags, they're completely clueless.

Let's look at the facts here:
    - Companies don't keep making games if they don't profit from them. They'd go out of business.
    - They keep making 'hardcore' games, including many PC-exclusive ones. Year after year.

    What does that tell you?

Most games get cracked immediately and pirated thoroughly. But pirates are still a small group in comparison to the market for big games. I remember Spore getting cracked and pirated before it was even released, and yet it was a big success. It's hardly alone in that.
