If they couldn't enforce their patents, someone could start selling (or giving away) copies of Microsoft products, only having to rebrand them to avoid trademark issues. Knock offs could be exact replicas of Microsoft software. People could steal everything Microsoft (or any other company) develops.
The day search engines become public is the day that they stop improving.
I'm not saying there couldn't be a public search engine, but nobody would use it because Google (and bing, ect.) would be so much better.
...and by doing so, they are making the book popular. Te publisher will just print more, and everyone's gonna want to read it because it's the book the Pentagon tried to hide. It'll also be on best sellers lists because they are buying 10,000 of them.
What southwest is saying is that it's not THEIR fault that the control tower broke, so don't sue them. Instead sue the people responsible: the airport.
I really don't find this all that surprising, diamonds aren't even that rare on earth. The only reason they are so expensive is because diamond companies buy them all up and only put very few on the market.
However, I have to admit, an iceberg of diamonds would look pretty darn awesome!
It could create a false sense of security by telling people to switch, and Microsoft is patching the problem. But aren't there TONS of other reason why to abandon IE.
To be clear, I am thinking very negatively here ^ and this probably won't happen. The firefighters are super prepared, so there would have to be some uber winds to make this happen. And from what I can tell, the winds aren't that strong. But it is in the realm of possibility.
From what I've heard, the firefighters have been preparing for quite some time making fire breaks and other preparations. There are also a lot of firefighters there, as it is a top priority. The only way that I can see it going down is if the winds pick up. If they got going fast enough, the wind would blow super hot embers over the fire breaks and over run the firefighters. Strong winds have been known to throw embers well over a mile, so if they did pick up, it wouldn't be that hard for one to land on the observatory.
If they are actual sensors (like a thermometer) and not just sensors that detect if you have gone past a threshold they should allow developers to use the info that they gather. Cause it would be kinda cool to have a thermometer and a moister sensor app.
My ISP Cox did this and to opt out of it all you had to do was change your DNS server to another one that they provided. In my opinion this is much better than cookies and router MAC addresses because you can do it on a computer by computer basis.

Tell your boss how you feel and if he agrees with you maybe he will figure out some other way to reimburse you, like for example a nice little bonus.

I just played around with that for at least five minutes. I'm so hyped up for HTML 5 now! Could you do that solely with Javascript though?

The only problem I have with it is the refresh button being moved into the address bar.
It's a 2 for 1 special, all you need is high pressure and heat! I still don't quite understand how this works though.
To get Opera (or Firefox) you will first have to use windows update to download Internet Explorer. Doesn't this kinda defeat the purpose.
