A local school emailing your entire neighborhood to tell them that the school is closed due to snow is annoying, but it is not spam.
Wait, this would be annoying why? That's the sort of things a lot of parents would want to know. Or are you saying they're e-mailing a whole neighborhood, regardless of the status of any children in a household? If so, I'd question how they are. Mass-dialing on the phone? Maybe that could happen(and some people would endorse that), but I've yet to see any kind of effective e-mail directory that's applicable to a neighborhood.
It's a business issue, not a technical one. Sure, you will get more latency playing across the ocean, but you can do it. However, for them, the billing issues are far more complex than it's worth.
There are ways around it, I know people who for some reason were in the US, but started off playing on EU servers before switching back to a US one. Nothing strange about Blizzard not helping here, it's not a common issue, or one where they want to encourage such transactions. If you want to do it, you're on your own.
Why does Kasey Kahne and the Budweiser racing team get up at 4am on a Sunday? Why does he wear a fire suit in 100 degree heat? And why is he willing to squeeze this car into that tiny space?
Why do we do all this? So we can all get together for a cold bud.
Ok, so maybe you haven't seen that commercial, but it's a quite applicable demonstration, that people do things for the enjoyment they get out of it. It may be social. It may amount to nothing more than a cold drink, but it's what people want to do, and who are you to say otherwise? Why do you even have to ask? Do you not have the ability to comprehend the value of entertainment?
At least from Amazon's point of view, that's what this amounts to, and I'm not surprised they're working to shut it down. They need good relationships with the companies that produce the media content, and rightly or wrongly, those companies do believe piracy is a problem for them.
So Amazon was going to do something to put a stop to this, as best they can. It may be the equivalent in futility to putting a finger in a dike, but that's another matter.
Professional Driver on closed course. Do not attempt. Seriously, you will die. Don't say we didn't warn your stupid ass in tiny print that briefly flashes on the screen. Cuz we did. Sucka.
Pretty easily, anything you don't have tied down is going to start drifting off on its own just by sheer entropy. It's not like they were out in deep space.
It's not images of their product. Look at the screenshots, if many of those aren't promotional images actually produced by Toyota, I will be quite surprised. I think I see one image in the whole Toyota category that doesn't look like it was produced for a marketing brochure.
I don't know enough about Cars to tell which images might be ones actually produced by Toyota, but I did browse their Video Game section, and the there are some very very clear copyright violations there.
Sorry, but it's clear to me that this site doesn't give a damn about other people's copyrights, and are instead trying to make it difficult.
Their hands are not clean. They're very very dirty.

What's worse is the lack of a DK sigil for tanking, and the lack of options a DK has to get sufficient defense to prevent critical hits.

Murlocs are fan favorites, people love to hate them. It is not a kind love, but it is truly a love.
Besides, the little gurgle the Murloc babies make is just so cute and precious!
My data is pure-bred, and I have the papers to prove it!
There's nothing arcane in the section of the law dealing with default judgments, no more so than the rest of the legal code anyway.
Yes, there are probably thousands of examples, assuming it's not written into the law in Pennsylvania already.
Being in the hospital is probably going to be good cause on its face, though I suppose there could be exceptions.
Just look up "good cause" and "failure to respond" and I'm sure you'll find some examples.
Taking a page from the anti-abortionist movement is not a course of action I'd recommend.
Vandalism.

advantages does this convention offer me, over say, a train, which I could also easily afford?
I don't think the summary is accurate. It's the people who don't know, not that they can't tell.
No, but they do add a line that says:
Professional Driver on closed course. Do not attempt. Seriously, you will die. Don't say we didn't warn your stupid ass in tiny print that briefly flashes on the screen. Cuz we did. Sucka.
If there was one to rule them all, I think a lot more people would consider it.
Sssh! don't give the Dark Lord any ideas!
I doubt it. How many of them would benefit by making it easier for their competition?
if you're also going to post harassing and demeaning comments as part of your pseudonymous communication.
Especially on a site like Myspace.
If you want to be a jerk on Slashdot, nobody will ever care.
Dude, you get me to Steve Jobs, I'll say it. I ain't afraid of no eye lasers. I've got a pair of mirrored sunglasses!

I think it'd work better in thick air actually.
I got a 93%, and I really felt two of the questions were...totally crazy. I'd have left them blank if I could have.
I agree with you, the only thing that the Mac Commercials did is...make me not buy one.
I feel the same way about political advertisements. Want a sure way to get me to not vote for you? Make an attack ad.
and the answer is, one of the other scientists is running an experiment. No need to worry about being bitten.
I'm certainly not going to buy a car made by Slashdot.
