/. is a free site, free to speak your mind. I'm sure you all know how to use the threshold feature. Stop whining about the trolls and the ACs. They are always one of two things.
1. Stupid and moderated down so you don't have to see it. or 2. Funny, marked as such and you get to enjoy the work.
So please stop whining about it. Slashdot is a free site for geeks and the like to hang out at. Remebmer the follys of government (the same holds true for/.). If they make hardcore rules to abolish troll posts, I would say that they would lose a large part of the community simply because we don't like them telling us what we can and cannot post.

You can use a custom PPP script to connect to any ISP that allows access from Windows Dial Up Networking. Here are some examples. AT&T, Mindspring, Earthlink. These all allow a Windows machine to connect to them directly from Dial Up Networking, therefore, a custom PPP script will also allow you to connect to them (from any distro).
After having a chance to look at more detailed information on the case, I would like to say that Blizzard is in the wrong here. I was thinking (I am not sure why) that this guys motivation was to sell email address' that look like they are from Blizzard Ent. I have decided that Corporations are taking there protected status way too far and I'm sick of it. I hope we can get Blizzard to drop the case and reimburse any fees their careless actions may have accrued for this gentleman.

That wasn't my point, My point was that myname@blizzard.net looks so much like myname@blizzard.com that there are some people who would love to have an email address like that so they can look like Blizzard employees. That is all my point is.
Adversley I will say that since the website IS NOT being used to slander Blizzard Ent., they are out of line suing over it, I would think it would be more agreeable if they simply asked to buy it. I agree that having a common English word as your company name does not give you exclusive rights to the name.
Munky_v2 "Warning: you are logged into reality as root..."
First of all, I am one if the biggest proponents of the OSS/GNU movement, but you people need to look beyond the words "Blizzard" & "Lawsuit" and see the real issue here. Have you actualy gone to blizzard.net?
Do you see a legitimate reason for the existence of this domain. It is there for one thing. To make money off poeple who think it would be cool to have an email address that looks like someone from Blizzard ent. Blizzard (whether you like suing or not) has a legitimate case here, they have the right to protect their good name.
One more thing and then I'll close: If a new software company (we'll call them companyX in this example) started up, and made a web site to sell their software http://www.companyX.com. Now lets say Bill Gates came along and built http://www.companyX.net and all that web site did was sell email address'. YOU WOULD BE OUTRAGED. The sad thing is that when you try to tell allot of people about this, they just say "your wasting your time" or "your not losing any rights". I really wonder what has happened to the USA in the past 200 years to make people so blind to this kind of stuff. Here is an example I have used to get the message to people in a way they will understand. If you go out and buy a VHS cassette, say the Matrix for example and you know that you are going to watch it allot, you will want to make a backup so you don't wear out the original. The MPAA thinks that is illegal. This is not copyright violation as it falls under fair use. The same if an on-line book was published in German, and I made a program to translate it to English. I would be wrong if I gave away the English version of the book. I am not wrong if I give away my program that translates it, people still have to gain access to the book on their own. I think a huge part of the problem is that so many people live life by Akums Razor (all things being equal the simplest explanation is probably the correct one) and since they don't understand the technical details of the case, it is easier for them to believe what the corporations and the media tell them.

My friend you need to wake up. When you say there is no hope for Linux on a PDA, you are thinking of Linux as a huge, everything installed, monster of an all purpose OS. What you need to realize about Linux (which you haven't apparently) is that Linux is whatever WE want it to be. They don't mean there going to slap a full Suse installation on there, they mean they are going to build an OS based on the Linux kernel. What that means is that they can build it to do everything they want it to and leave out the stuff they don't.
BTW: It's not safe to jump off the "Linux bandwagon" right now, you never leap from a vehicle going over 100 MPH.
Munky_v2 "Warning: you are logged into reality as root..."
In the example you just gave, the -1 serves as a mathematical function (the act of taking a quantity from) in which the quantity taken is 1 (a real number). The answer to your question is none. Now, can you show me none? NO. Why not, because not is not a literal quantity. Besides I already said that we are talking about a date format.
Ok, watch this: What is this date? 2/2/2 Now what is this date? 02/02/2000.
All the zeros are doing is telling us how far to carry the decimal to make a legitimate quantity (of which zero is still a place holding number).
Munky_v2 "Warning: you are logged into reality as root..."
You are correct -1 is not a literal quantity. The whole basis of this discussion is: When being represented in a date format e.g.. 02/02/2000 is 0 a number. The answer is no, it is a place holder. It tells us that 02/ is just letting us know that this place accommodates 2 digits 02/ (same thing) 2000 here the 0s are letting us know how far after the decimal to read thus separating 2000 from 200 or 20 or 2. It is not a number, it is simply holding a place.
BTW, -1 is an imaginary number;)

Because you can't have (literal quantity) none of something, we just started doing that to keep track of inventory and the like. Plus like kwsNI said, a true number can be divided by itself and will equal 1. 0/0=1 false, 0/0=0 true, therefore 0 is not a number.
