I had a friend go for a local version of "who wants to be a Millionaire.
They had all sorts of out clauses in that the show was pre-recorded well in advance. One of the major ones was that unless they aired an episode featuring you, they did not have to pay you, and no payment would be coming until after airing.
I am sure that this was incase of dispute or a question - or other reason, but just by agreeing to their terms,if the show deemed because you weren't entertaining enough - No matter how much you won, you could end up with nothing.
If you only watched 4 movies in your life, and those four movies you watched were the Next Generation movies, you would believe First Contact to be great.
This reminds me of the future school in the Simpsons that was sponsored by Pepsi. I believe credit could be gained by answering any question with Pepsi.
The best phones are the plastic ones you buy at the local bric-a-brac store. Sometimes these phones even let you call Elmo who will say "Hello", sing a song and wait for you to call the next person
You can't. Because it was never advertised, it was never even mentioned on the box. The only 'promotion' it ever had was a few Sony reps talking about it and the fact it was included with the console..
I would say that reps speaking publicly about features of an product constitutes advertising. A bonus feature it may have been. They included it and spoke about it to target a segment of the population that would be interested in this. For some users this 'promotion' formed a part of their purchasing decision.
Besides which, it wasn't forcibly removed, you were free to choose not to agree to getting the latest version of the PS3 firmware if you wanted to. They made you choose between Linux and the latest firmware but you still had the choice (so that Navy example everyone gave as pretty much the only people who had found a use for it wasn't affected).
Yes you had the choice, however, by forcing this choice on your customers, you were limiting more than just access to the PS network.
Users could keep the other OS, and stay off the PS Network and not be able to run any new Playstation Software. Games released after the update required the latest firmware. For those who wanted the Other OS as something to tinker with on the side, this choice crippled their Gaming machine.
nz employment law is quite stringent. It is very hard to fire someone here. When a case goes before the era here, it is always up to the company to prove that the firing was justified and that appropriate warming was given and that the correct process was followed.
I was on Qantas last year, and I am sure they still had them
Kind of.

We must have willed this to happen as I remember thinking, asking and feelinge the exact same thing.
2 player 2 mouse! Used to love having Lemmings battles

I am sure that I saw an advert for this towards the back pages of my Fantastic Four comics circa 1982
I visited Christchurch about 6 years ago and all bus trips were the same price regardless of distance traveled.
Of course I can not say if it is still the same, But I did appreciate the flat fare structure.
it doesn't service the customers who put their media library on a server instead of on disc.
With the lack of CD support, It also limits those of us who do put it on disc.
Agreed, I can't wait for open tablets that will allow "Real work" to be performed!
I thought that this was about education/research rather than amusement

Ever tried getting an internal dial up modem to work?. .
As I was writing that, I was unsure if I was making a positive comment about people on the benefit or a negative one.
The current PM of New Zealand was raised on welfare.
There is no sanctuary

Some of us still have memories.
M$ is still evil and Sony has seen my last hardware dollar (until they both prove themselves to have made significant change)
Why my hardware dollar? Well I am not so anal as to check what studio/distributor is behind the movies/records I see or buy.
I am bowing out of this generations gaming systems and am sorry I took part in the last.
