Where do I find more information? Places like mp3.com where I can find and hear a few songs and if the musician does not even sell things, PAGE views get them money. Its a nice service and we get some decent music. If they had thier music for sell, with some sample mp3's on the WEB, I bet they would have more exposure.

Gnutella has a lot of non-comercial products on it, will the MPAA go after people who happen to have a name like "Metallicock" or something that is CLOSE, and they think it is REAL? see: www.joecartoon.com for Metallicock group.

When the US lost a plane in Soviet Territory in Eisenhower's presidency. The first thing we did was lie. We stated that we did not do it, and the Russians pounced.. they had the PILOT!. We were left with many years of egg on our face and problems internationally. We lied and got caught.

China wants to be a world power, they will have that if they win this showdown. They are HOLDING AMERICANS AS HOSTAGES!! to think otherwise is to ignore that they cannot come home of thier own free will.

  11. Re:Not quite on Part One: Up, Up, Down, Down · · Score: 1

I agree with your points. The issue is NOT that Rock is not more popular, it is WHY it is. It is much cheaper to produce simplified music for the masses than it is to produce elegant complex musical pieces. Corporations would rather spend 5 thousand to startup a 4 person band than 500,000 thousand for an orchestra.

Sex is not music. Music is enhancement to sex and nowadays mostly Sex is used in music to enhance the music... because they know the music SUCKS. Country music is using Sex now more and more and it just shows how it really sucks.

Remember that more people bought the soundtrack to Chess than bought most all of that years Rock groups.

What is the most published Book in the world? The Bible.

What is the most listened to Music in the World?
    Religious Music.

Can Corporations make money from It? They do, but not as much as they could with other music... so they do that.

Hence... Corporations give the IMPRESSION that Rock music is more popular than Religious Music... and yet whole stations are dedicated to Religious Music.. and Christmas music around christmas is almost EVERY station.

I know that corporations are FORMING bands specifically to control the entire process and make more money (anyone remember Winger?).

I dont exactly think that Rock is the most popular either considering that some of these things like Riverdance and other classical stories and plays outsell rock time and again. It is just never advertised as much because they dont need too advertise it to make the money.

Guess what? So are the thousands of other muds out there in existance. I believe a MUD should be able to use the most standard connection available, TELNET, to allow users of many different platforms to connect.

I have hundreds of users who are from all over the globe using basic programs, or the more advanced MUD clients.

If you want to use a graphical MUD, then pay up for the hard work and effort put into it. Everquest, Ultima Online, and many other Massively Multiplayer games are out there and extremely good for them.

You see, GAMES are not worth Free Software unless they really expect to last. Basically you spend some serious effort on a game that next year is obsolete. The turnover for games is incredible. Dont thing free software will change that. You have to have infinite playability and you have to support the widest range you can.

Why do muds still persist? Because they are seriously fun CHAT rooms. You start in a game and end up in a family. Its amazing how that works.

Btw, go to Freshmeat.net and get all the other GREAT FREE MUD codebases and work on it yourself. Worldforge is also out there to do the EXACT same thing.

Note: Neverwinter Nights when released will do everything that a local MUD hoster wants to do ANY players are interchangable and can be moved between worlds. It may be the closest to a MUD killer out there.

    1. COE requires a certain "Style" well, that is FINE and easy to do. Make that so.
    2. COE cannot do certain things that your platform can. This is how we are able to get in the door and close it on COE.
    3. DONT STAY WITH THE US GOVERNEMNT. They are one of the worst customers I have ever had. Canada is the best...

Let me clarify somethings. The US governement use of products are required by a lot of other NATO countries before they think of purchasing a system.

The US governement contracts are typically Best Value, and so even if you are small and have best price you can lose to a raytheon.. BEST price rules in NATO.

The US Governement will come in behind the contract and take money back. This is true even on fixed price contracts. If you bid 4 million on a project and when you are done the ACTUAL contractual price then is audited and you may lose hundreds of thousands of dollars at the whim of the US governement auditor.

COE has to go away. Many of the people working in COE agree to this as well. It is bad that large companies like SAIC, ENRI, and others that get a large constant funding to keep COE around.

None of these views is from the company I work for. If you find out who I work for, do not even think of holding them responsible. I choose to take my own time to write this for the benefit of others. Go away and play with someone who actually represents thier company on the net.
