Because he didn't have to, he got to spread his "brand awareness" or whatever the current marketingspeak is through Slashdot and a lot of other media anyway.
This is highly unlikely to happen, but IF they are planning a Linux computer that can run Windows games (or even Mac games) right out of the box I would like to know were to place my preorder.
Perhaps focusing on support for Mac games would be easier? And there is already a big enough market there to support some Mac ports. Adding Linux users to that market would improve the situation for both linux and Mac gamers.
Use Steam?
Today I still use my old Amiga at times and play games I bought perfectly legally back in the stone age. Imagine that Steam had been around back then, what do you think the odds are that I still would be able to play those games today?
I have flown with three 7,62 mm rifle rounds in my pocket. They were accidentally left there from the day before when I was out hunting and I had completely forgot I was carrying them.
Swedish airline security missed them once, danish security missed them once but caught them on the second attempt.
There was no fuss, paperwork, extra searching of my other luggage or anything like that, I just said oops sorry about that and they told me they had to keep the ammunition but I could just go on and board the plane.
To be fair the same law with some cosmetic changes would have been proposed regardless of the government currently in power. The reaction from the opposition (social democrats) seem to be "phew, lucky for us we didn't get that one".
Ideology has nothing to do with it.
Scchhh!! not now, we have not reached that stage of the plan yet.
Want to know if you are secure? just put something important/valuable on your computer and let us know when you are done.

I think we agreed earlier to that no one uses Vista anyway, people just get the license together with their Windows XP computer: http://tech.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/08/07/1854242

How many of you have ever actually made a purchase based on seeing a web ad? I'm pretty sure that I've never done that.
How many of you have had your "brand awareness" of the advertised product increase because of a web ad. I'm pretty sure it happened to me a few times.
