I'm a mechanical engineer by degree, and this has nothing to do with "engineers". Nor is this crap limited to just "engineers". This type of favoritism from brown-nosing happens in just about every line of work.
It basically means "What he said." So, when someone posts something, and you want to say the exact same thing, you can reply and say "THIS" to his/her post, indicating you agree with it entirely.
You say that like it is a bad thing. I prefer the use of extensions for my browser, instead of the bloatware that tends to happen. What if I don't care about privacy? I don't need that installed then. I like that I can choose the features I want, instead of having everything thrown in there.
THIS.
I like not having to download a large installer for Firefox. Has it grown? Sure. But it's not humongous like IE's. I'll add my own functionality when I need it. That's why extensions are great.
What might be helpful is for Firefox to add a feature to automatically download and install some of the most popular extensions during installation of the browser. That would automate some of the searching for extensions, while still keeping Firefox modular.
On a side note... anyone else having trouble getting to the beta downloads? I keep getting pages saying that download wasn't found.
Ask anyone with a marine aquarium and they'll likely be able to tell you this exact same thing. We've been doing this for year to maintain alkalinity, calcium levels, and pH in our aquariums. I'm amazed it took these "brilliant scientists" this long to figure out this chemical reaction...
And I happen to agree with above posts when I say... What good can come of messing with the environment? This can't be good.
Oh, and if anyone thinks this lime tastes good with tequila, I dare them to try it. Please post video for us! I'm sure it'd be a great start to the week. (For us, anyway...)
I agree. As I posted earlier, I doubt he'll see any prison time. His crime may not warrant prison time, but your comment seemed to imply that consequences for young people should be small, just because of their age. Reading your reply, it seems we're in agreement. Prison time is overkill. But there should definitely be some consequences to remind him to use his noggin next time.
And where do you draw the line..? College? Grad school? He knew what he was doing was wrong. Besides, it's not like he'll actually see much prison time, if any. Stupid mistake, yes. But the courts decide his punishment, not the school. As I posted previously, he's not the first one to get busted for this. He's smart enough to commit this kind of crime. I'm sure he knew the consequences could be severe.
Maybe it's because his parents are actually pissed that he did something so blatantly stupid..? If you knowingly do something with bad intentions, there should be consequences. My parents taught me that. I'm glad to see teaching the principle of responsibility for your actions hasn't been completely lost.
Most likely, he won't see much prison time, if any. But asking what good prison does is complete ignorance. Should these crimes be treated without any real threat of punishment? He's 18, and he's obviously smart enough to commit this type of crime. There's no reason to think he shouldn't have known it was illegal, and carried possibly major consequences. After all, it's not like he's the first one to get busted for the same exact thing.

...they do nothing!!

I was confused when I first saw it, too. Makes plenty of sense now, though.
