People don't like doing low level, thankless, GUI stuff. They like making interfaces, not improving the speed of existing widgets. It would be difficult to get a sufficient number of people to work on the project reliably, IMHO.
OTOH, people like me love optimization and "improving the speed" of anything sounds fun.
The extension does everything I need, and it works like a charm; the only problem is that is not (currently) FF3 compatible. And runs over cleartext FTP...great for wireless networks.
Redirection is a much better idea! Reflecting will increase the temperature of the sun at a given point (our angle of arrival) and who knows what effect that will have?!
"the person viewing the pictures is located in a separate room" = images are transmitted electronically....I wonder what the buzz will be like the first time one of these machines get cracked and the images are all over the web. I certainly wouldn't want to be the TSA boss
Taxes should only be used for things that are better done by a government than a business (like defense, legislation, judicial, etc.). Government is not optimal for all areas of life.
If taxes are considered stealing, such "big" government has failed to prove accountability and voters should vote.
All websites should have an option to run without fancy Javascript (and still be fully functional!). It makes no sense that a web site should bog down my 400Mhz PDA.
Iron Man has always been one of my favorites because he's self-made. We have too many heroes that become heroes through some dues ex machina-style event. Tony Stark worked hard and accomplished much.
(No I didn't forget Batman. Just that Iron Man's armor is much cooler than the bat-suit, imho.)
MIT has an Open Courseware project that "shares free lecture notes, exams, and other resources from more than 1800 courses spanning MIT's entire curriculum." : http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/web/home/home/index.htm
They were recorded on 35mm or 70mm film. The grain size is finer than a High definition CCD's pixel. but the makeup and props weren't designed for HD. I prefer to watch movies the way they were planned. So what if I can see a few extra pixels if I can also see the strings holding up the "spaceship." Just my preference.
Just a thought, in my experience heavily populated areas tend to think similar and overlook rural problems: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_think and that is reason for concern when it comes to voting, but, putting anecdotal evidence aside, remember the President of the United States is directly elected by the states and indirectly elected by the people. (I guess that would be called President of the People of the United States, POTPOTUS?) The people directly elect their representatives. I'm not arguing for or against it, but that is the way it is.

We should soil the names of the RIAA sponsers:
...
EMI
Sony BMG Music Entertainment
Universal Music Group
Warner Music Group
Look at the panel and audience for examples.
it's just the 99% that give the rest a bad name!

$7.50 was 6x minimum wage in 1965, equivalent to $43.50 today.
Modern college Physics books are good for 2 or 3 semesters, so they should cost $87 to $130.50. Looks about on track (and they have color!): http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=physics+for+engineers&x=0&y=0

Shouldn't the Cylon guards already do random searches like this? The guards were too predictable the few times they've been on foot.
