    They are not incompatible, they are both d20 systems. It's like if you learned to drive auto and switched to standard.

    We are well past the time limit for anyone on this plane, you must be thinking of True Resurection. Or Reincarnation, it's only 4th level and working as a halfling won't really affect his directirial style.

  3. The reason for using math based cyphers is to reduce memory usage. You have a few hundred bytes and can generate the encryption key to encode/decode the message with it. Using math makes your encryption weak to advances in computers and algorithms, where using a one time pad stored in your petabyte file server is possible now, and the NSA would have to hack your computers or break in (for physical access) or control the companies that make your hardware and software to beat that.

    So what happens in 20 years when the USA implodes? Does Mexico get back all their stolen land? Will the native americans get their land back? Who ends up holding the weapons of mass destruction?

  5. If you extend the line to link up Europe (EU) you can switch a lot of cargo away from Atlantic ocean shipping. And a lot of China production goes to there anyway. This might make up the traffic needed for profitable use.

  6. The US rail network is not properly maintained. Many parts of the track have a top speed of 35 mph. Making the system run at 120 mph would significantly reduce time to market, and therefore reduce total cost. It would also make a great path for refugees, as the Chunnel has shown.

    The USA was designed to be run by the rich. The American war of independance was fought because of Corporate Taxes. The King of England, needing money to pay for a war, demanded that American corporations start paying the same taxes as everyone else and they staged a revolution.

    If Skynet ever does happen, it won't take over the world by military force. It will just run automated factories to wipe out all the jobs while taking over our entire power/food/telecom infrastructure. Using the networks (controlled) it will tell the poor the rich are to blame, and tell the rich the poor are out to get them. Then sit back and watch the bloodbath.

    I bought a Honda because I want a domestic car, not an import like a Ford. People do vote with their money- they export the jobs to the third world, we stop buying from them.

    Both Captialism and Communism are extremes. You need to avoid pure political systems and get the best mix you can. The USA actually has rather a lot of Communism in it, but unfortunately it's mostly of the corporate wealfare type.

    Programming absolute rules into an advanced intelligence means putting a break into a specific logic circuit. It's roughly equivelent to programming a router to route spam to dev/nul. unfortunately networks interpret censorship as damage, and route around it.

    Not very many though. Certainly we would survive the attack and they would not. The bigger issue is even with all their cities gone we'd need ten million ground troops to hold the country, and we don't have that. Never fight a land war in Asia.

    The name of the game is "low hanging fruit". You want someone else to be the easy hack, and your stuff to be not worth the effort/time/money to hack.

    90% of road wear and tear is from trucks, even though they make up less than 1% of the traffic. Do trucks pay 9x the road tax?

    A standard size smartphone with a hinged keyboard would be nice. It would keep the display from getting broken/scratched and give you a useable keyboard too.

    There is no shortage of food on Earth. Every country consistently grows more food than is required. Even Ethiopia and other "Famine" countries make excess foods. Distribution is a bit of an issue though, especially in civil war areas.

    1-The only people making an in depth examination of the issue are those who make a lot of money if the answer comes back "safe". 2-Is it ok to put pork in sausages shipped to the middle east and not lebel it? After all, religious dietary restrictions are not valid health and safety issues.

    The whole GMO issue has nothing to do with feeding the poor. GMO grains cost more so the starving proles can't afford to buy the seeds, they just save their current seeds for next year. First world farmers like GMO because they get a higher profit margin, but only if they can sell it at full price. If you mark the GMO foods then people will demand a discount (because many people think it's "bad"), and that wipes out the higher profit margins and that's why they work so hard to prevent labeling.

    Mandatory transponders for all drones would work. Aircraft and comercial drones would see those and avoid them. It should be possible to have a proximity alarm for the cheap drones, if they get too close the drone shuts down or avoids the collison.

    The EU is collapsing because they are keeping the Euro above fair market value, in order to protect the investments of the rich. Once the rich have had sufficient time to move their investments the Euro will drop and the economy will recover.

    The math teacher I had for computer science had a core group of students to write up the labs for him. We made sure to tutor him as well.
