Let me get this straight...an insurance company is spending money on research to find out if this is true, so they can save people money?
What kind of insurance comapny is this?
I wonder if this applies to instant messages as well. I know emails generally take longer to read, but seeing that flashing new IM can get distracting as well.
You'd think there'd be some testing before projecting it though. If the drivers are that specific/obscure, then chances are it would have happened prior to opening night.
I sneezed in Ottawa and ended up with a web applications developer job.
Although I think this article is referring to US tech jobs (stat comes from US Dept. of Labour), you're absolutely right. Ottawa is the silicon valley of Canada. There are plenty of jobs available in Ottawa/Kanata/Gatineau.
Think about it...is an open source security/tracking system really a good idea? The code is there to look at and study in order to program something that will bypass or disable it.
Sports games are much different than RPGs, although in one NHL game (I think 2K7, I could be way off, someone correct me if I'm wrong) they had a great soundtrack with orchestrated music that dynamically changes based on what is happening on the ice. This was great because it really added some depth to the game and got you going when the action was really intense. Kid Rock just doesn't do the same.
Yes, but you look at different parts of the screen, which are different distances from your eyes.
True, but is the difference in distance so great that your eye needs to refocus much to make a difference (if at all)? I'm no biologist, so I don't know what the effects on the eye are, but it doesn't seem like it would make much difference. Most people don't have 24" screens at 3600x2700 resolutions, so coding windows aren't monsterous. Also, in this case the retina would be the lens;)
Focusing only occurs when the distance between you and the subject changes, right? At least that's how it's done in photography.
I don't know too many people who move back and forth much when sitting at a computer coding...unless, like mentioned above, you're coding in a rave.
I'm sure putting some sort of highly reflective material directly under the tubes will help increase the efficiency of the tubes.

SQL...Structured Query Language.
Or were you not aware of that fact?
Let's just call it D-flat and get rid of all the confusion ;)
It also says that SQL is a programming language.
That word is frowned upon here. Please refrain from saying the "W" word again.
Thank you. (forgot to sign in)
Don't forget masturbation. I'm surprised it's only once or twice a week though, with this demographic.

Or possibly even removing memories too.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind isn't so crazy now, is it?
I'll stick with my Freevo media PC thanks.
Electrical circuits in my eye...who wants the first to test this one out?

No, nobody in IT wants to admit they're a COBOL programmer.
But if you're equating wives to deities in the sense that they're mystical infallible ideal beings
Is it odd that I read "inflatable" rather than infallible?
The way Canada is shaping up, he'll also need to speak Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, Italian....you get the idea.

Not only install, but do any sort of troubleshooting or fixing if something goes wrong (X and Grub seem to come to mind here)
I thought the "new" web was trying to get away from Flash?
"Good luck!" Sanders wrote under the eBay handle zepdrummer612. "You're (sic) country depends on You!"
I wouldn't want him trying to use his brain to figure out who to vote for anyways.
That was my first thought as well.

Coming from a Slashdotter, are you surprised?
