This is a fact. Someone is posting with the subject line "scrubbing my nuts." These posts are somehow preventing all of the comments from below that post to not be displayed. In effect, making./ useless to anyone with at threshold below +1. Try it yourself, on this story, or the two below. Set your t*hold to -1 or 0, and watch the comments dissapear. Something should be done, I just worry that the admins browse at +1 and aren't seeing it.
How could Linux be a unix killer? Linux is a type of unix. Maybe Linux could be a killer of other unix flavors, but it would be impossible for it to be a unix killer without killing itself.
It looks like they do BeOS stuff. Anyone know if this is going to be BeOS-based?
Well, if you'd take a moment to actually read the page, you'll see that at the bottom there's a section where they say they're not going to be using Be.
your argument might make a shred of sense if even 1% of the users out there cared at all about the actually programming behind what they're doing. I just don't care if my OS is fork()ing or whatnot, I just care how it works. If I cant get as many windows as I want, I don't care one bit how the OS is doing it.
It seems to me, first of all, that this would just be too big to be a useful PDA. My Palm works for me because it does fit in my pocket. Really. Anything that doesn't, I'm just not going to carry around. Period. Second, the page indicates that this is really a gaming machine. Any PDA features will likely be an afterthought and not be too great.
anyway, last time I checked I could open up pretty much as many windows as I could possibly want...i don't think linux can be claimed to have superiority in multitasking..
take CB radio. been around for a long time.. keeps the truckers busy.. not the longest range, but then again, if you go too long range, it doesn't make much sense.
Sorry, this just ISN'T going to happen.

Sorry about that. I've already patented this idea of an eBay for patents. Expect a lawsuit to follow. Oh yeah, and I'm going to sit on the patent, so don't expect any sites like this in the near future.

Seems like a rather crucial part of the letter was left out in the main part of the story. I quote:
It should be noted that all of the people listed on the resignation letter were not active developers, only 5 have actually contributed recently to the project, and at least 1 has never actually used Stampede Linux, but rather is affiliated to another developer through personal relations.
Sounds to me like this changes the story at least somewhat.
hmmm...the nvidia drivers page for some reason has drivers for BeOS, Linux and OS/2 warp. how strange, considering everything in this universe declared by anonymous cowards is completely true.
i read the above post because I was sure the "WOOOHOOOOOOOOO!" was in reference to the fact that it was great to finnaly have a first post that made some sense and didn't contain the words "first" or "post." Oh well, I guess this accomplishes what I hoped would have been.
...a Beowulf cluster of these...mmmm....srexy...
that may be the case but it certainly wasn't what the original poster was intending to say, so my criticism still stands.
now it says "./ DoS?"...i'm not kidding, try it yourself.

To me, that's a good thing...
what are you talking about? it's from the same letter that was quoted on the main story page. check your facts before you spew bs next time.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Seriously. It knows your IP address. It's meant to prevent the very "abuse" that you were trying to commit.
