This is just like in Germany, where you have to pay for a few crappy state funded TV channels if you own a computer with an internet connection, because these channels put a few fragments of some shows on the web for a few days after they aired.
If you found this comment not that interesting you might want to watch this cyanide&happiness cartoon instead (yes, it's related to this slashdot story): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcO9svaOahM "The Sign"
I still have hope that one day, one of the star authors (Stephen King, Ken Follett etc.) will write a "Choose your own Adventure" book, or a text adventure. I mean, the concept is so great, but all we get are "You are the hero fighting the evil wizard" style books.
But what about the normal particles falling into the black hole? Why don't the cancel out the antiparticles, on average? (I'm not a physicist, I never understood Hawking radiation)
But that's complete nonsense. Everything stands relatively still, it looks like everything is moving apart from everything, because new space comes to exist everywhere. And since the "borders" of the universe are connected (Think surface of a 4D donut here) there is no "center" of the universe or center of mass, just like there is no center of the earth's surface.
Didn't you hear? Vorratsdatenspeicherung was abolished. And that internet censorship stuff was just some campaigning stunt the conservatives pulled of to get more popular with conservative voters.
The way I see it the iPad/Phone/Apple in general is like a very large, beautiful prison cell. Sure, WE might walk far enough to reach the walls and be unhappy about it, but to the average consumer (who doesn't walk far and never reaches the walls), it feels like beautiful freedom. It's like the restrictions don't exists.
Dealing with all the stupid customers who get confused by the overly complex passwords they'd type in would be more expensive than the occasional cracked 0-9 account.
Also, it makes it easier to do banking using your phone.
Will I be able to change BIOS/UEFI settings using my bluetooth keyboard/mouse, or will I still have to plug in my old keyboard whenever I want to configure something?
No, it's not! Even if you don't post any photos, your friends will just tag you in their photos for everyone to see. And telling them to not release photos featuring you would be "weird".:-|
Spreading BS like "The goals of the party are essentially dictated centrally from Sweden and then implemented throughout the world wherever the PP has any power to do so." is very irresponsible, please stop that.
The various Pirate Parties are independent, there is no hierachy.
So the lesson of the story is that the people in the boat and helicopter had no free will and were instead remote controlled by god?
Also, why does god only perform SOME miracles? Doesn't he have the time to defeat all evil?
So, how to watch Pink outside the USA? Anyone knows?
I'm looking forward to the time when thepiratebay will have the latest sports car for download.
On a serious note, 3D printing could kill the physical product industry. Will there be DRM on car blueprints? Hm.
They were always called "pad" on Star Trek. Or does that count as future use of the word?

The first rule of tautology club is the first rule of tautology club.

>> There's logic and valid arguments on both sides
You do realize that this is logically impossible, right?
When I go on vacation, will I have to ask the neighbor to feed the house for me?
And will the house live longer than myself or will I end up living in a stinking house corpse?
The best cosplay would surely be this giant android (body marionette): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psx2D5kVddU

How well do those work? Do they automatically keep track of what items you carry and all that stuff?
Why are there no textadventures/"choose your own adventure"-books for the kindle or any other ereader?
Also, these interactive kiddie books might lead to the kindle 3 being like this: http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1910868
I'm no quantum theory expert, but does this represent the limit? Or are there some hypotheses about doing calculations with smaller particles?
At first I read "Ocean Kitties" and wanted to see pictures of those...
Tera -> Tetra -> 4 -> 1000^4
Peta -> Penta (like Pentagram) -> 5 -> 1000^5
Exa -> Hexa (like Hexagon) -> 6 -> 1000^6
Zeta -> Setta (like 7 in many languages) -> 7 -> 1000^7
Yotta -> Otta -> 8 -> 1000^8
Or use 1024 if you don't like IEEE/IEC norms...

When a vulnerabily is found on your LiveCD you won't be able to patch it.
You no longer need anti aliasing in your game engines since that will happen naturally in your eyes. ;-)
