  1. The ... Line OS? on Will Linux Save Microsoft? · · Score: 1

    The only thing Microsoft has to do is to release its own version of the Line OS.

    Did I misread this, or did this article just refer to Linux as "The Line OS"?

    On the phone you're on hold only a few minutes, and not one of the techs flinched on my questions.

    Email support is even good. It took only 30 minutes to get a response... at 10pm on a Sunday Night!

    For all of the support services that suck, these guys truly shine. (and aside from having a website hosted by them, I have no other affiliation).

    Here's the proof that 2=1:

    a=b
    a^2=ab
    a^2-b^2=ab-b^2
    (a+b)(a-b) = b(a-b)
    a+b=b
    a=b.. so a+b=b+b

    therefore

    b+b=b
    2b=b
    2=1

    Of course, there is an error in there (because we all know that 2 doesn't really equal 1), amuse yourself for a few minutes and find it.

    Upgraded from RH 6.0 (never bothered to upgrade to .1 or .2, sinc it was working fine, aside from security patches). The only problem I ran into was with the new .rpmsave & .rpmnew system. It moved /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession to /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession.rpmsave AND it put the new Xsession in as .rpmnew (leaving me with no plain Xsession file). I wasn't able to log in to X until I rectified the situation.

    Other than that, though, RH7 has been a dream. It recognized my second ethernet card, and I'm now able to play with ipchains and samba and all sorts of 'neato' stuff.

    So far I don't see any other bugs either. They must all be in programs that I don't use. :P

    I don't know how one would go about doing that in Enlightenment (or something else), if that's what you're using. But since it CAN be done, it's likely that the other wm's have a setting for it too.
