I looked but am unable to find the original article, but the title sticks out in my head, and it's a classic. I remember reading this in their print edition, waaay back in 1999:
I would waste mod points on you, if I had them. And I would mod him up just to spite you. Next time you want to flame, log in. Or at least sign your name. This is why there is a -1 modifier option for ACs.
I won't bother detailing the "obvious" issues with a plain XOR, especially for a multi-use pad (which is what we're talking about): I'll leave that to Google.
What about adding into the XOR'd message information about the next pad to be used? The numbers for the next pad could be compressed, and if you could get 2-1 compression, the pad currently being used would be 1.5 times the size of the original message(or whatever), but would contain information on encrypting the next message.
Obviously, if you decrypt the initial message, the proceeding ones will fall, but since XOR is so strong, that shouldn't happen, right?
Living in Colorado, loving the DNC list. Used to get several calls a week, now nearly none. Before the list went into effect, "put me on your do not call list" cut down fairly significantly on the amount of calls I got -- a lot of them were for newspaper subscriptions or long distance service. But the new law is great. If we had the equivalent for SPAM, SPAM would not be a problem.
I live in Colorado Springs, home of several military bases, and, of course, NORAD. I see black helicopters flying 150 feet above my house about once a week. Sonic booms here and there. Normal stuff. I was playing video games late, late at night about 3 years ago, when all of a sudden the sky went from pitch black to orange. I didn't have a good view, but for about five seconds it was light as day, only more orange. Shadows moved on the ground. Then it faded back to night. I turned on the radio, and after a song ended, the DJ came on and said, "KILO. We rock so hard, we turn night into day." Apparently it was a meteor, but has anyone seen one so bright? I mean, I can understand it casting light on the ground, but we're talking bright as day here. And orange, distinctly orange.

And since bloggers are generally hacks as writers go, actual intelligent conversation(occasionally seen on/.) is just that much better.
Yes, but this law's purpose is such: You have the right until it's taken away from you. DMCA takes this right away in some circumstances. This law gives the right back, for all foreseeable circumstances.

Only among people who don't know about the history of computing, about it's roots. Your instructor probably hasn't spent hours on IRC helping people get their sound card to work, or downloading.mod files from BBS'es in the early 90's before The Internet came to town. He probably got on the bandwagon late, like many of the "computer people" you run across. No background in the field, they just got into it when it got big, and tried to make a fast buck. Fortunately, people like this will probably try and jump ship once the Next Big Thing comes around, and maybe computers will be left to computer people again.
One of the things about jail is that you have nothing but free time. So what do you plan to do? Study for a new career? Work out constantly? Plan your escape? Learn to speak Sanskrit?
When you get out, you will have had 33 months of basically no real responsibilities. If you find a nice, cushy prison, you can get some real work done. Are you going to use this time to make your life when you get out of jail better?
Also, when you get out, what do you plan to do? Something in the computer field, or do you plan to change your path when you get out? If I were in your place, I think I'd just get fed up with computers and become a florist or something.
Don't crack it right away! Wait for it to become firmly entrenched as a standard, for people to accept it, then crack it. And in the mean time, keep ripping those Audio CDs...
Okay, how'd you do your math? 1000 pixels tall, 4:3 means 1333 pixels wide. 21.5 x 15.6 = 335.4m^2. With a little division, I get 2.5cm^2 / Pixel. Which, of course, is even worse. Am I wrong?

No, it just seems like they do. They can change their name every other month if they want to, it doesn't change the fact that their DSL sucks it. Sucks it hard. Apologies if you work for Qwest.

How would that require a USB dongle?
The disadvantage is carrying around a very large digital key (which could easily fit on one of those USB memory key fobs)

I'm pulling 75k/sec downloading a sample track from them. I think they did OK.
