Sales pitch of cricket to Americans : Imagine a game that takes longer and is simpler to understand than baseball. Imagine being at the park for, very likely, 4 to 6 hours. Think of all the beer you can drink at an event like this.
I have all but stopped reading the articles that pose a question. Including the sensationalist ones.
If the headline leaves me with any doubt, I believe it to be garbage and skip it.
Ahh yes, the People's Pope.
Perfect foil to the Archbishop of Canterbury's 'bad guy' image. The run up to Christ-o-mania XV should be good.
PPV buy rates should be off the charts!
I'm glad they arrested him for attempting to organize this. They have to keep the momentum on BBM crackdowns after all of the arrests made from the rioting and looting earlier. You know what was started with a water fight? World War I. Archduke Ferdinand took a water balloon off the temple and there's your catalyst.
Re:am i the only one who misread it as al-Pacman?

AI Takes On Pac-Man

i have no idea what 'arabic pacman' would look like, but i was so eager to click and find out. imagine my disappointment.
You're disappointed? I couldn't figure out why the hell anyone would care if Allen Iverson could beat Pac-Man in the first place.
Note to readers : This has nothing to do with the basketball player "AI" Allen Iverson.
*sigh*
think of something else other than a "place where video games and pinball machines" when they hear the word "Arcade"?
And what would constitute a "new school Arcade"?
Trying to determine if and how far out of touch I am...
Busted! Typical "Nigerian sock scam" if I've ever heard of it. Don't fall for it! There are no crate-loads of argyles waiting for you! He's not really a prince!
These "music industry" people want the equivalent of 250 thou for a 25 grand commuter car. nuts.
I am a music aficionado (who isn't) who has a massive CD collection nearing a thousand.
There are three CDs that came out within the last 9 month that were released at a price of over $22 per disc. Brand new.
Take note suffering industry, as this is what I did:
1) Got mad as hell.
2) Downloaded EACH album. Free.
3) Resigned for these acts to come to Toronto on tour, and buy the CD from them. Even if it is $22 at the door, I know the batsh!t insane markup goes into their pocket and not HMV.
This is what happens when people care. They find solutions that work for them.
I probably won't stop buying CDs as long as they're available to me.
I want the physical product. I want to be able to look on my shelf and see the mass amounts of music as some sort of badge. I'm still in this mode of paying for a virtual product (yes, I see the irony in this statement).
I rarely buy 'big label' music, not because I have some kind of principle against them (which I do) but because I can't justify spending $20 on something I know is only worth $10. Most music I purchase is through CDBaby.com, eBay, used stores and at the venue of the live act. Given that the HMVs in Canada recently saw most of the music catalogue (the older stuff in alphabetical order) reduced by about a third of what it used to be, and their movie and video game stuff expanding, the outlets to buy the kind of music I want will not be at retail.
As more and more artists stop producing CDs (at a fair price), I will have to move to digital means to purchase my music, however I have yet to pay for an mp3 (almost did a few times).
And to you music elitists, there is good new music out there, you just have to work at finding some.
I have a ton of music that was discovered through gaming and in most cases, the music that was on these games were signed acts that, at some point, were promised the world through MTV/radio playlists... yet never made it.
Tony Hawk was one of the first games where I really paid attention to the music in the game. A song called "Here & Now" by The Ernies (who seemed to vanish after that) sent me on a hunt for their CD. It started there and keeps going. I'd say around 40 CDs of music I own is due to gaming soundtracks and exposed me to music I really would've never heard before.
Sadly, most of the artists I've listened to from gaming have rarely gone on to anything beyond that but exposure is the key. I'd like to know how much of these selections were an label A&R dink and how much was the developer/publisher side... I wouldn't want to give the labels props for anything positive, you know.:)
Upvote. Damn it, I command you to upvote! Damn new technologies! +1 now! I give up. That was a brilliant and accurate comment though.
I figure ease them into day long limited-over matches, then lock'em in with three and five day affairs!

But clearly God didn't have a direct opinion of whether you should or shouldn't. Survival instincts were greater than a religious shortcoming.

It's a strange parallel.
If...
guns don't kill people, people kill people
then certainly on that logic,
video games don't kill people, people kill people
or
"__________" don't kill people, people kill people.
I admire the convenience of the 'who's responsible' argument. It's worked against my parents for years.
>>> I'm hardly anti-sony. I know you're not. My Auntie Sony doesn't read Slashdot.
I believe the DEA has been notified of various forms of music. http://www.toothpastefordinner.com/100204/schedule-one-funk.gif

... rocket science... oh wait, nevermind.
I must admit to never having heard of Neo-Geo. My apologies for having a life.
Yet you're on here... odd. Peculiar even...
Damn, I thought you were talking about a very wrong variety of tea at the end...
this 'sif-fee' channel all about?
