When Colbert came to Cornell last fall, he spoke out of character for a bit. He said it genuinely frightens him that so many young people watch his show more religiously than real news. He through some jokes in about it, but his point was sincere.
While it might not be a good thing, I think you're right in that his show has done a lot to get young people more involved with politics, or at least getting them exposed to some important people.

Minimum security institutions, also known as Federal Prison Camps (FPCs), have dormitory housing, a relatively low staff-to-inmate ratio, and are work and program-oriented. FPCs are generally located adjacent to larger institutions, where inmates help serve the labor needs of the larger institution
I doubt his life was that terrible during the time he spent there. But then again, I can't speak for his ass.
If it works reliably, this could be a very cheap alternative to traditional cargo planes. The price of helium ain't nothin' compared to the way the oil market is behaving.
Case in point, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. It lacked content, it ran at horrible framerates no matter what your setup, and contained obnoxious bugs... but they released it anyway.
