    I second Password Safe. There may be better ones out there but I started using it years ago and haven't had a reason to go looking. I like it for all my online stuff because you can store the URL's of the login page for the sites the un/pw are for. You can right click on the entry and select "Browse to URL" or "Browse to URL and autotype" which will plug in the username and password for you. It can be run from a thumbdrive if needed. It also works on Wine though when I use the Browse to URL function I get a couple of error messages I have to click through but the page still pulls up in my default browser.

    Even though you're a Canadian you can still see Beck on YouTube or other sites and can form your own opinion. What you've gathered from reading the posts in this thread is not correct. Well, he is a conservative blowhard, but not really "ultra". Beck wouldn't call Tony Blair a sheep-shagger unless he had video of Blair shagging sheep, audio of him saying he likes to shag sheep, or text written by him claiming his love for shagging sheep. He doesn't make unfounded claims though he's been known to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I like watching him and I like him calling people out and holding them responsible for their actions. You just need to take him with a grain of salt and see past the emotion.

    In America, we aren't expected to have to prove our innocence unless there's someone providing evidence to the contrary. In this case there's not. It's an unfounded rumor. He doesn't need to deny it but he should do a better job of ignoring it.

    Citation needed - Beck asked the "birther" question, it was answered, he moved on. Haven't seen him go back to it since it was shown. Do you have a link to Glenn pushing the issue after the birth certificate was shown?

    Maybe Glenn takes things out of context. I can't imagine what context the stuff he shows would be ok within but I haven't done the research so I'll assume he's done that. For the comparison to be fair in that way, the site would have to show a video or play audio, taken out of context, with Beck saying he raped a girl. Did it have that?

    I'm kind of repeating another post I had here but I keep hearing the same thing over and over again. It would seem you don't know much about this person you hate so much.

    Anyway, Beck plays video, plays audio and reads text written by someone doing or saying something that "should" disqualify them from having a role in our government. Especially if that role gives them the ear of the President or gives them a hand in determining the fate of this country or its citizens. You have a right to call them outrageous claims but that title doesn't seem to fit if the person actually said or did what they are being accused of.

    So did the site have evidence of Beck raping someone? Some video of it? Maybe some audio or an article in which Beck said he did it? If not then the site isn't a parody of anything. Its just in bad taste. I would say the Michelle Obama thing would be in even worse taste because she doesn't really put herself out on the firing line like Glenn does and she seems like a classy lady and a good mom. But rape is a very serious issue and if that site was an attempt at a parody then it's in very bad taste.

    If you can't grasp THAT simple concept, then I don't care. This post wasn't a waste of time.

    Beck makes assumptions and oddly worded semi-accusations toward people he disagrees with, then demands they take the time to disprove them. This site is made to do exactly that.

    Actually Beck plays video of the people saying or doing the things he disagrees with, or reads from something they wrote which he doesn't agree with, or plays audio of radio interviews in which they said something he disagrees with, and then demands they get are called out on it. This site was made to propagate a rumor. Or maybe I'm wrong. Did the site have Beck on video, in writing or on audio saying he raped a girl? Is there a girl saying she was raped by him?

    Sounds to me like this site was nothing like his show. Maybe you've never seen either.

    For sure. This is a big accomplishment. But the wording is ""to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity among nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses." Overcoming racial boundaries doesn't fit.

    My company does this too. It's 4 months and through a temp agency. I hated it but I needed the job. From the employers standpoint it's a great way to go. The headhunter does all the work finding people who "qualify". You interview those who rose to the top and bring them on. Since it's through an agency you don't have to incur all the expense of hiring someone and all the HR work. If they work out we bring them on.

    The agency we use provides some benefits at a reasonable cost but it's certainly not like what the full time employees make. If you're going after someone who's highly sought after I wouldn't go this route. Someone else will give them a better option. But in this market, the employer holds the cards. Go ahead and make them suffer a bit. There's a lot of hungry people out there who will do it if it means work that pays.

    I've been playing Call of Duty: World at War on the Wii and I've been pleasantly surprised. I haven't played it on any other console (or on the PC) so I'll probably hear it from people who have but I've been real happy with the controls. I don't use any type of gun to play, just the wiimote with the nunchuck attached, and I really love the controls. I've played other Call of Duty titles on both other consoles and on the PC and I'd pick the Wii controls over them any day.

    This and a bunch of posts above it that basically say the same thing are a big part of the problems we are having today. WE are Americans and, yes, WE fought and died for the right to be free.

    "WE the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

    The people who wrote that are as dead as the people who fought and died to make it happen. Nonetheless, they are us and WE are them. When you disconnect from that you lose sight of how important it is to maintain the freedoms afforded to us. The OP hasn't lost sight of that. Neither have I. WE are Americans. WE died for you and continue to do so whenever the situation merits.

    The rest of the OP's post, which you may or may not have read, was concerned with the chipping away of our freedoms. That's what he/she meant by "one more nail in the coffin". You're rights won't be taken in a chunk. They'll be stripped away layer by layer. That way you won't notice.

    And yes, sending packets and net access is one of those freedoms. To think that the only freedoms our consititution allows are for things that existed when it was written is a bit short sighted to say the least. Give the government this right and it will be abused. The Feds already have control over all their networks and systems and they have the ability to pull those plugs any time they feel threatened. No bill or law needed. A bill like this would give them power to unplug you, your company, your group, your town, your state, your country. WE fought and died so that our government could never have that type of control over our lives. If the Feds feel threatened, they don't need a bill, walk over to the router and unplug the fiber, but don't tread on my packets.

    I don't turn off ads. I even click on them once in a while. Found Splunk that way. But I can't agree with the splitting of stories to multiple pages just for ad revenue. If you generate great content, and don't annoy people, maybe your stories will get millions of hits and putting them on one page will still generate great revenue.

    On a side note, I think that Slashdot should really consider throwing around some muscle here. As everyone knows, getting a link on Slashdot's front page is a great boost for any site. If Slashdot editors, when reviewing a story, sent a nice e-mail stating "our policy is to not link to stories when we determine that the story is spanned over multiple pages to boost ad revenue. If you would like our story to run, with a link to your page, you'll need to modify it or provide a modified version for our readers".

    Wanna bet on whether or not they would comply?

    Found a bunch of other charts too. FBI wasn't in the early results and my fat ass is too lazy to click the first "o". I would ask for a link but why would I look to the FBI for information about the leading cause of death in the US?

    BTW, guns only make 1 of the 2 lists above and it's the last thing. Oh, also, besides cancer the top causes of death are from being a fat ass. Health care coverage isn't going to change that.

    You need to head over to the produce isle. The cheapest stuff in the store is there. Add to that - bag of grain, bag of rice, bag of flour, canister of oatmeal, sub $1 cans of tuna, chicken (non-breast meat). These are the low ticket items. Look around.

    Now head over to the library and look up some books on economics. Food that's bad for you is cheap because there's a high demand for it. That drives down price. If everyone wanted and was buying healthy food the price of food that's bad for you would climb.
