What about other sedentary activities like lawmakers who sit around thinking up this crap?
On a more serious note, what about sedentary jobs? What about stress? If you apply the same logic to all activities then people would have to pay to be air traffic controllers.
This should have been a one page book reading : "DON'T".
Webapps are the most evil thing that has happened to software
development in the last decade.
AJAX, Silverlight, JScript are all 1990s state of the art technologies
that accomplish nothing new in terms of innovation or functionality.
The resulting applications bring nothing new to the table and are bloated
and unmantainable compared to their circa 1996 network enabled desktop application cousins.
"Judge Norstrom acknowledged to Swedish Radio that he was a member of The Swedish Association for Copyright, as well as a board member of the Swedish Association for the Protection of Industrial Property. He also said he has worked alongside Monica Wadsted -- who represented the American movie industry in the trial -- to solve disputes related to Internet domain names. However, he rejected that there was any conflict of interests."
But it isn't.
There is a difference between just being member of an organization and being a board member of an organization who's goals would benefit the Plaintiff and having established a professional cooperative relationship with a Plaintiff's council previously.
If you've played WoW, then you've played a micro-transaction game with a subscription.
Blizzard does it in to form of the trading card game and codes within the packs that gets you stuff. Naturally, the codes for the really cool stuff are rare making you buy more cards.
I wish I could provide the actual article but it deals with Matt Groening's frustrations with "Futurama". In short, the networks were telling him to make another Simpsons and his protest was that they've already got one.
With current hard disks if your drive is fubar, you have some chance of recovery of data. What happens if the disk stops on these drives and the magnetic vortex disappears?
Are you crazy? The movie would be nothing more than Deckard stopping Replicants with well placed trash cans.
Batty: Proud of yourself, little man?
Batty: This is for Zhora!
Batty: This is for Pris!
Deckard: Trash can... remember a trash can!
Batty: Trash can? What are you talking about...
Macs will always appeal to a certain demographic but "Always have a better market share than Linux" is a bit presumptuous. Linux can appeal to demographics that Mac can't approach. Just going to Newegg, there are 8 netbooks with Linux pre-installed from $250 to $500. The MacBook is $1000.
some old growth forests got leveled in the northern hemisphere, greenhouse gas production is up just south of the equator and global warming has caused the ground to become saturated just southwest of the cape.
Extend the original line of logic to your cell phone and all the contact information you keep in it. Now, if you advocate removal of email addresses from the file, then you should wipe the contact info contained in your cell for the same reason.

Apparently, the God of Guilt died inside before being released.
One source = plagiarism
Two sources = research

Web apps are a historical regression.
Posted on a historically regressive site.
...if you're not to picky about the meat, it's a complete, well rounded and self-cooking meal.
I'm a little lost in your wall of rant guruevi, but my post was in response to rhsanborn's "In some defense..." post.
I think we're on the same page. Your page just includes hot women and coffee so I think your's is better on just that alone.
That would be true if that was the only factor.

Don't worry. Other, possibly right-wing, morons will jump in to set them straight.
but of course the big question is what does this mean for MySQL?
I guess that will depend on the contract arrangements Sun had with MySQL. I suspect Oracle will keep it as a entry level / small business solution.
Does anybody else but me think that if we bust on the iPhone some more, this guy's head will explode?
Use the same device and methods to answer the question of if they agree to plead guilty?

Meh. I suspect it's not teh ebil MS and simply market share vs. supporting another OS not being cost effective.

Or Blizzard ports WoW over. Wouldn't have to available at Wal-Mart either. Just available for download.
thanks to a cooperative president.
Not according to a previous AC.
Bush's people were VERY busy making sure nothing that wasn't supposed to be there would be hanging around for the Obama people to come across.
Apparently they were too busy covering their posterior and some could consider that a different type of vandalism.
GO PLANET!
