Non news? Why? I need something better that Intel integrated crap but I don't like to put up with additional heat and fans, hdmi out and easy multi-monitor setup on a capable integrated cihp by AMD helps a lot in this regard for people that actually do work on their PCs.

Also is news because this chips were planned for 2011 and now we can get them this year, I'm planning on doing the upgrade in mid 2011 so by then this technology and compatible mobos would be not only tried and tested but also cheaper.

I think this would lead to develop smaller mobos, and better heatsink tech so we can enjoy small, silent and CAPABLE desktop units. I say it's good for AMD so this show us they are doing their homework and are actually delivering progress in the field .

Installed the AV (Nod32) and got everything ready to connect the cable and rush for the updates, bad luck that while Windows Update was doing the check Nod advised me against an attack from a neighbor IP (that is, no browser launched, no crapware installed, vanilla SP2 and AV only). Unplug the cable kill the PC and take the disk to another machine to scan it. Even if Nod32 (not updated by then) stopped the attack, cornficker managed to infect two system files and to add 1 registry entry.

I really can't see how AMD chips since Athlon fail in that abused marketspeach term "quality" I haven't read news about faulty AMD CPUs overheating and causing fires neither massive bugs that corrupt data (Which intel had) because thats what I'd call a "quality" failure. Maybe you can fool the average consumer with that arguments, that doesn't make them real facts.

By your logic then we can be positive about the fact that Microsoft Windows is truly the best OS in the world by lack of quality competition? Or is the other way around, both Linux and Mac OSX are WAY better than Windows just that Microsoft have a monopoly in there, this is the same as intel.

Both AMD and Intel make good quality chips, both chips are used by servers and high performance systems. Intel can make them run faster and AMD can make them consumer/pocket friendly, which target market are you?
