As someone who has been building sites based on Zope for the last 3-4 years, my personal experience is that it is extrememly powerful.

    Zope Pros:
    - Built in everything: Webserver, ftp, webdav, gzip, caching.
    - Great products: Plone, CMF, discussions, content types.
    - Everything is an object. This sounds strange, but actually lends itself to the web very very well.
    - Huge, active community. Tons of examples. Tons of sites.

    Zope Cons:
    - Documentation, while getting better, is not at the level of other solutions.
    - Python while the right choice (and better) is not as well known or supported
    - Splintering of efforts in the community now. Zope X3, Zope 3, Zope 2.8, CMF 1.5, Plone. They will all come together in the next year or so, but if you are a newbie, it would be a hard choice of where to jump in (probably Zope 2.7.3, Plone 2, CMF 1.5 (included in Plone).

Each computer has to be "authorized" which means that you have hooked up (through iTMS) to Apple and given a username and password. This "authorizes" your computer (one of three) to play iTMS songs under that account.

When you want to move from your work PC, to another PC at home, or another at work, you de-authorize one computer and authorize the other.

Been using this since April 24th and it all works very well.

Did you know that they sold about 700,000 iPods in the year and a half they have been out?

The profit is in the iPod. The $.34 they make from each song (less from albums) goes to keeping all those servers running, credit cards percentages and Akamia (sp) contracts.

Yeah, Apple will be covering costs with iTMS but swimming in the money with iPod/iMac/iBook/OSX/PowerMac/PowerBook sales.

I can't wait till they get new stuff or when artists decide just to release via AMS (probably a year or so off).

I love my 500 CDs, but there is something so instantly cool about hearing a song, buying it and being on your way to work listening to it some more.

They got this one right and when iTunes for windows is bundled with the next iPod right before X-mas, you can bet they will fly off the shelves.

I started reading this with some interest as I just gone and added two movies to my list.

I have had an account for over two years (3/28/01) and have rented over a hundred movies. Recently, in the last six months, I have started to watch/return 2/3 a week sometimes more. And as I look at my list now of 47, I have 1 movie that is a "short wait" which is "Inherit the Wind (1960)".

"About A Boy" is on the list and available now and I was just shipped three new releases.

I also checked with a friend who has a faster return rate than I do and with 97 on his list only 4 are rated "Short Wait", 3 are Korisawa films
the other is a korean war film from 1959.

It is an interesting study, but I am not sure it 100% accurate of the way Netflix does business.

I have been using 10 since 3/24/01 on both of my machines, full time. I almost never boot back into 9 and have gotten things done. It has been a downhill ride since 10.0.0. Each release made things easier and each iApp has opened a whole new world for me in terms of music (never listened to MP3 before my iPod), digital photos with iPhoto and hopefully video soon.

They have not done everything right (upgrade prices for those of us who bought 10.1) but they are still the best out there, and so is OSX.

It is the first thing an IT department with a backup strategy gets to. OFF SITE BACKUP.

Comparing a 100MB to lets say, getting a rackspace server ($250 a month) I say it is not a bad deal. They should, of course, keep the old email and storage. Booting people after 90 days is going to hurt.
