1. Apple has a less than 15% market share... they may be very influential, but I hardly doubt that anything that they do could be construed to be abuse of market share.
15% market share of mobile phones? Really? I guess I expected their penetration in phones was much greater than that of their computer (desktop/laptop/tablet) market.
I reached the conclusion there is no god some 20 years ago. Until reading your post, I was unaware of the existence of atheist websites or atheist discussion forums. I've not actually engaged in a discussion with another atheist in all these years. I saw no reason to seek these things. I'm not trying to make fun of you or denigrate your comments. I guess the point I'm driving to is that of course, there will be groups of atheists that meet in various ways to discuss whatever they feel a need to discuss. I just never had that need.
I've never really felt like there is anything missing from my life. I'm married with 5 kids and 6 grand kids. My wife and I both still work and we do things in the community to help out when we can. We both vote and hold strong opinions regarding society. I'm pro-life because I am bothered by the idea of so much lost potential and I'm anti-illegal immigration because I am bothered by the knowledge that the immigrants are being turned into indentured servants. Well over 20% of our income goes to help others. Some of those people we help are family, some are friends and a few are strangers.
My wife recently told me that she too has come to the point where she no longer believes in a god. I've never tried to convince her that my lack of belief was superior because that always felt too much like proselytizing. Anyway, tl;dr kicks in here I suppose and again, I'm not trying to pick nits. It just seems somewhat incongruous that atheists would feel the need to get together in any way other than the normal social interaction that comes from being part of a larger community.
In any case, good wishes for success with whatever you choose to believe of not believe.
Yep. Welcome to democracy, where the government screws 49% to get the approval of 51%.

There are millions of scientists involved in this worldwide.
Perhaps there are millions of scientists but are they ALL working on AGW research? I think not.
the ONLY climate "scientists" who get rich from their research and live high on the hog are those in the employ of the fossil fuel industries.Speaking of motivations...lets look at the fossil fuel industries. unlike those "lying AGW scientists", they actually do receive tons of money from the government. hundreds of billions a year. and they make even more in profits selling their product. and they spend billions in lobbying every year.
We might need a couple of citations here. I know there are billions of dollars involved but I rather suspect that the fossil fuel industry scientists are not getting "billions a year"
If you tone down the rhetoric just a bit, or restate your premise to be a bit more precise, you might gain some credibility.

The NSA approaches ES and convinces him to participate in a long-term project. Snowden "escapes" with tonnes of documents. He takes them to China. Then he takes them to Russia. The Russians and Chinese help convince the world he is a credible source. Well not if they were stupid I suppose. But anyone with any intelligence could find out what the power draw of a Nissan Leaf was.
it's good to bring the hammer down hard on stupid electric car owners who think their being "green" gives them a right to tresspass or skank power.
I find the inability to use capital letters, and the use of the word 'skank" are an infallible guide to stupid people.
Do you know how everything in the world works? Well then, you must be a stupid person. Do you use regional dialect that someone else might not understand? Well then, you must be a stupid person. do you occasionally mistype a word in your sentence? Well then, you must be a stupid person.
Are the only damages (or potential damages) the $0.05 in electricity? What if that particular circuit was being used for other things, like running a pump to deal with some flooding, and plugging in the car was enough to blow the braker?
So the next time you run a red light should we lock you up for killing the children that could have been crossing the street at that intersection?
No, you would get a ticket. And the jackass that willfully plugged his car into the outlet without permission should have gotten a ticket.
As someone who understands this process, findings like this lend tremendous credibility to the scientific community, and yes, boost my confidence in the work they're doing and the integrity of the published results. It's what makes science the best method we know of for understanding reality.
I'm not arguing the validity of the results from the research. But, just for arguments sake, lets play with the idea that the researchers published a report that established that they had overestimated the temperature differences by 50%. Would you still, right now, be compelled to say this lends tremendous credibility to the scientific community? Would it boost your confidence in the work they're doing? Would the integrity of the published results be less than previous studies have provided?
Before jumping to the conclusion that I'm a denier...
I have been convinced that the Earth is in a warming phase. I have been convinced that humans should reduce the output of greenhouse gases. I have also been convinced that most of the carbon credit and associated businesses that have been started to support it are, shall we say, powered by less then altruistic motives. I have been convinced that some politicians and business leaders are making significant amounts of money or adding to their power and influence by evangelizing the push to blame all global warming on human influence.
I don't take the extreme position that we are the only cause. Some small amount of climate change can be attributed to human activity. And, we need to get off carbon based energy production. And we need to be better stewards of all of our natural resources. We are not doing a very good job of convincing the majority of the population. Part of the problem is that even though we own the information outlets, we are using failing methods to get our message across. Stop tell everyone that "deniers' are slack-jawed mouth-breathers. All of us need to stop being bullies that act like pussies when we don't get our way. Basically, we need to stop being jackasses to anyone that asks a question or expresses a difference of opinion and we might actually start to make some headway.
They targeted more conservative groups than liberal groups. So, your argument is technically accurate. I don't know if this fits you but I know a guy that pretends to be obtuse just for the sake of making an argument. Your argument being valid doesn't necessarily translate to your point being valid.
I replied to AC, you posted as AC. I posted not as AC. Perhaps you should consider not posting as AC. Next, no I did not imply real world response to in game actions. Reading comprehension is important.
I doubt you'd be interested in impressing me but if you were to have told a bunch of stories about how you did good guy things and helped the other players defend themselves against the pirates and came back after a long absence to the applause and cheering of the miners, then I would be impressed.
It's not how you do the things you do in game it's what you do that matters.
I don't give two rat farts what you do in game, but bragging about being a dick then berating people that call what you do dickish seems churlish at best.
That "it's a game and nobody knows who I am so I can beat them up with impunity" mentality is pervasive in EVE. Because some people choose not to participate and consider that attitude as unacceptable is a lifestyle choice. You could be more tolerant of their views and just let it go.
Thankfully, the coastal cities like LA, NY, SD, Seattle and Houston (mecca's for modern abusers of indentured servitude and welfare slaves) will be affected first and all of us land locked idiots will be happy to sell land to all the coastal racists. Welcome to your new paradise! A place where almost everyone works which makes sharing the load a heck of a lot easier.

And when I say I lived there, I mean I owned or rented property there, I registered to drive where that was possible. I immersed myself in the economy. I've also spent considerable time in a number of other European, Asian and Middle Eastern locations but only as a short term visitor. And I call bullshit on your claim that the infrastructure here in America is not as good as what you would find in the countryside of Romania. If there are structures here that still have lead water pipes, it is an aberration, not the norm. You sir are full of shit.
We can't convert our enterprise from Windows because we still have some critical in-house and off the shelf apps that are windows only. But in the meantime, we still need to procure or develop new apps and services to meet changing market demands and requirements. But, we are not going to buy or develop those solutions for non-windows platforms because we don't have the backend support systems to service a complex multi-platform environment. So, we have to get windows based solutions for now. In a couple years, those new windows based solutions that started out as stop-gap measures have now become critical and we can't stop using them. Rinse and repeat.
