You say that but most people treat their computer like a VCR. It either works or you replace it. I personally built my own computers but I'm aware that I'm in the minority. Because a lot of people are like that their desktop isn't that powerful because it's either low-end or jam packed full of shitty software which they can't or won't remove.
Mark Zuckerberg is a cock. Like anyone he is just doing what he can to be rich but he is shitting all over a lot of people and unfortunately people seem to be fine with this because they don't realise the negative effects of FB until it hits them.
Mark is not going to give up access to your data, it is what makes him rich, so people need to realise it's not smart to talk about your vagina or how drunk you got in such a public area. Once they realise that's dumb then maybe they'll tell Mark to quit shilling their data and that little twat will have to find another way to get rich.
I want to point and laugh at him and yeah I still think he's done something worse than I have but still I have played virtually every Pokemon game and completed most of them even giving up socialising with friends for the latest Heartgold version and I've turned 33 this year. So really I shouldn't point and laugh at him.
What happens when you want to make a Windows Mobile 7 Series app?
Windows Mobile has always allowed you to use Java if you want. If they remove the freedom of choice in WP7 then that is just one more reason to avoid it.
Do you whine that you can't code it in Java or Obj-C or Javascript or Ruby?! No, you learn C# (again *not* that difficult), buck up, and *do it*.
Flash and Java have made developers *lazy*. Lazy because they think they can learn one language and they are *entitled* to use it everywhere (I love Ruby, but I don't expect to use it for everything).
I prefer to have open systems so I can use Java if I want or I may use Python maybe javascript and php or maybe Scala. That's thing, it doesn't matter because I have the freedom to choose. Why should I learn Objective C when it's only really relevant for Apple development?
It is Apple that is trying to limit developers to one way with one language so it is them who are being lazy by only supporting one way of doing things.
Oh joy, my eee 901 will stay on 9.04 for now. My only issue with Ubuntu (that only seems to have come up in the last few versions) have all revolved around wifi. I know I'm not the only one so they need to sort this out.
I'm sure Oracle would be happy to play on the iPhone if Apple allowed them even if it meant building in a way to lock out Java apps and I'm sure there would be a way to do it.
I just don't think they want you to do it. After all if you want to with Apple's tools you have to work on a mac. I'm sure there is a way to develop for the iphone without a mac but the easiest and best option is to buy the overpriced Mac. I think that is what Apple doesn't want to give up.
Java is open and proven in the mobile space and Apple (or anyone) could ensure the JVM used is up to date and allows the use of any new features or hardware.
I think apple mmeans they only want you to do it their way and preferably you do it their way on a mac when developing.
People only use an ISP to use the World wide web and other protocols to reach out to everyone. That ISP still has to work with external forces to get their domain name visible and other's visible to their customers.
If they opertate some sort of travel usage like my first ISP's 1-800 number for dial-up anywhere then their customers can reside outside of the borders temporarily and still use the service.
The internet is just to big to think any part of it can really be a state only thing or even one country. That is also why the internet needs to remain neutral and free. If everyone has to pander the worse country in the world for censhorship so every country is happy it would be pretty shit.
I'm not necessarily for the FTC stepping in and personally I'm only concerned that the FCC can't do more to enforce network neutrality. That is the single biggest thing, imo, that we should worry about.
Except for the fact that no one keeps their lead in all territories all the time. Just look at Nintendo's past or Sony's past success. If the US ever decides MS consoles are cool they are fucked. Where as Sony has done quite well despite being 3rd in the US.
Nintendo had huge success and went to the point of becoming almost irrelevant and yes they made a profit the whole time but that's because they don't believe in losing money on the hardware and they have their domination of the portable market to support their consoles. So they could afford to drop out of the limelight and get by. What did damage them is they aren't getting as much support from 3rd parties.
MS has no second console to back up the 360, they still work on the same business model as everyone but Nintendo and lose money on their hardware upon launch and for as long as necessary plus Nintendo has a world class quality set of 1st party titles. So if MS were put in Nintendo's position around the N64-Gamecube area they could not duplicate Nintendo's profits. They'd bleed money on the hardware and a loss of 3rd parties would hit them hard because they have no Mario, Zelda, etc. One Halo game a year won't cut it and Banjo Kazooie is a joke.
So yeah MS is making money now but unless they make inroads somewhere else they will eventually be screwed. That is why it does matter if they're bombing elsewhere.
You're ignoring the fact that the Wii has outsold the 360 by tons and dominates it in every territory and despite the year lead Sony caught up and isn't that far from MS. I think it's around 34 million to 39 million. In fact if Sony were to play its cards right it could over take MS within a year.
In this instance they should nail him. Most of Gawker's sites hardly pass for journalism, imo. I mean really, Kotaku posting pictures of Mario cakes is not journalism.
Secondly Gizmodo named the guy and possibly ruined his career chances for some time over a mistake. Real journalists shouldn't name their source let alone name him just for some more hits.
They paid for something they knew full well was obtained through questionable means. If this is acceptable then who is to stop people from pinching things from work on a regular basis just to earn some extra cash.
I'm not sure about Gizmodo but I do know Kotaku has often had to retract stories because there is little to no research. It's just fanboys posting any little thing they hear just for some ad revenue. Again, it's my personal opinion that Gawker Media's sites are tabloid trash. I hope they're taught a lesson.
That's true but if MS' only way to get people to,ove forward is by dropping support for their existing products sooner then that means they're in a bad position.
By forcing upgrades sooner (which I agree with) they piss off people who either go elsewhere or possibly kick up a fuss about MS abusing their dominant position to make people buy new software sooner than they would like especially as MS' products continue to improve and give people less reason to move on.
As someone who grew up in a small rural area I know this. It's because small town life is fucking boring and people fill their time in by nosing into everyone's life.
The internet isn't like that and quite frankly I don't care what some busy-body thinks. IMO most of those sort of people like are like that because their life sucks and they need to live through others. They rarely hold any power so who cares about them.
Facebook is just a way to have a website without having to know how to build one. Like geocities, for example, the vast majority of fb conent is shit not worth preserving but there is some hidden good content.
I do sort of use fb for that reason. I could do without hearing about a managers urge to piss her life away as a young alcoholic looking for cuddles. That is my one weakness in not having the nerve to deny friend requests just because I actually know the person. Oddly enough the people I do know are the worse. I should jyst remove all of them so it doesn't look like I'm picking on someone who has enough issues as it is.
Why is if when I click on comments to Idle topics rather than just expanding the comment on this page it opens it in a new window? It's been doing this for months and I've realise it's never going to get fixed so am I the only one getting this?
There is no person that does not like porn. The only thing that separates us is whether he like fat girls, thin girls, men, children, donkeys or the dead. We might like different things in porn but we all like porn.
If they're going to do this for Islam then I expect the same treatment for Christians, Scientologists, etc. Muslims are not special in anyway. They are equal. That means they get all the good parts of life in America and all the bad bits too.
Corporations only get that data because you give it to them. You can't be lazy and unwilling to protect your privacy and expect to have your privacy. No one ever said freedom or privacy is something you organise once and it's sorted for life. It is something you have to be vigilant about. It requires effort and that is why most people rather just give into the status quo than do the right thing.
If you really want your privacy you will get it. If you don't have it then odds are you don't really want it.
No, he's saying he's going to send midget China men into my house to watch my every move and report back to the Illuminati so they can subject me to a slave lifestyle. Real patriots know this and are forming a militia to over take Google HQ at this moment.
So information that is publicly available to all so off limits to some? Sorry but what if I don't want you knowing anything about my wifi and your phone connects to it? Should I be able to conduct a witch hunt against you?
Not everything in public is something that people want to be recorded but everyone is legally allowed to record it.
It's because you're dense. It's quite clear already that he's saying if you're doing something recorded by search engines, including Google, and you don't want people knowing about it then don't do it or don't do it in public otherwise live with the fact everyone will know and the government can legally ask for it no matter how much search engines may want to hide it.
You're a mongoloid. You're comparing talking on a message board indexed by all search engines to someone shoving cameras in cracks and using super sonic microphones. If you can't see the difference then get off my internet.
You say that but most people treat their computer like a VCR. It either works or you replace it. I personally built my own computers but I'm aware that I'm in the minority. Much lower powered phones have handled Java fine. It is just a control thing with Apple, imo

Aside from the fact the woman would never want to be raped and MS rather you pirate their software than use Linux.

If you're using it just because you're a tight wad then you might as well pirate the OS you really want.
