    I'd like to buy one if they had one for use in the UK. I know I could get an adapter but I don't really fancy paying more and making it stick out even further.

    MS says IE can't be removed from Windows therefore it is part of Windows and you buy it everytime you but Windows.

    To be fair it should be better over time. It's just trying to generate loads of images for my bookmarks which I'll probably never really appreciate.

    I don't own any apple products (though I sometimes use them at work) so I'm hardly on the Apple bandwagon.

    As I stated it's my guess and I'm not stating it as a fact. I think it'll take some time to see what people produce with where as, afaik, there's really only demos and sample apps out there now. I would look into it more, at this point, but I'm too busy with normal Java to even consider JFX at the moment.

    The linux client is coming and will likely be in a better state than the Flash or Silverlight client for Linux.

    To be fair I think this has been rectified a bit so it more true than it was in the past.

    Java's downfall on the client, imo, was due to MS, Sun and all the people who wrote shitty pointless applets that could degrade site performance for no reason other than to have some stupid animation.

    In a way Java would probably be better off on the client side if it had come after Flash and Flash was responsible for the user learning curve and gave something for Sun to see and improve.

    My guess is that Java FX is supposed their way of implementing their lessons learned.

    The fact is the vast majority of people that are targeted do have Flash (especially compared to those with Silverlight) and that's all most people decided whether or not to flash will care about.

    I have version 8.5 of messanger and I tried checking my hotmail, it opens in IE8. I tried changing my mobile number and it opens the site to do that in IE8.

    Go ahead and try it yourself.

    It's not a toolbar at all. It's not visible. It just improves Java start times which is why I didn't remove it. It's definitely more helpful than his silly and pretentious Latin generator to prove he's a "master" web designer or the google toolbar he has installed which is rather pointless seeing how Firefox searches google by default in its own search box.

    At least you can opt out. I still have MS' .Net framework assistant listed in my add-ons despite uninstalling the software that put it there.

    Apple's iPhone may not be as open as it should be but then the same thing could be said about Xbox 360 or even Windows.

    There is physically nothing stopping you but then you need to work with the vast majority of people using Windows and realise they're using formats you can't access.

    I did listen to them and did quite well. I'm not saying all teachers are bad but there are quite a few of them that think their shit doesn't stink because they teach kids and therefore control the future.

    And yes the ultimate decision to close a school isn't the teacher's decision but to say they have no influence, at least in some schools, is naive.

    Teachers would get more respect if they wouldn't cancel school at the drop of a hat due to a snow flake hitting the ground.

    I don't envy anyone becoming a teacher but a lot of them do have a bit too much ego purely because they're the one with the answer book in the classroom.

    As you've mentioned, considering the time it would have been hard to find many people that weren't what we'd call racist now and he wouldn't have been elected.

    While some people do look at the past with rose tinted glasses some people look too hard to find a reason to tear down historic figures. I think people don't realise our way of life is hasn't been around that long at all. The truth about Lincoln almost certainly lies in between the positive and negative views of him.
