I don't think Apple really makes that much off of, for instance, including iLife on their systems nor do I think the price would be any lower if they removed it.

Closing the system is lazy but effective way to secure a system and make it looks like it performs better than it actually does. They know most people are computer illiterates and don't care. Just like they don't care that the Wii, 360 or PS3 are closed systems compared to the PC as a game machine.

Console gaming has always looked more polished because it's a system that doesn't let just anyone make a game for the system and even if you're allowed to develop your game has to meet the hardware manufacturer's requirements.

PC gaming and PC software in general looks worse because anyone can make a POS program thanks to the lack of quality control.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer the free model because no one is forcing me to use rubbish software but I'm not some old lady who just wants a computer that works like her TV.

The news makes it seems like it's a bigger deal (if everyone is doing it then I should be) and it shows you a kid can make national headlines quite easily and people are more obsessed with fame these days.

That's why I think you should lose your licence if you drive like a retard on top of old people being tested more often.

Seriously, I think too many people think it's their right to drive. I know deaf people that drive. That shouldn't be allowed yet they can because there is so much pressure on the government to basically allow certain impaired people(ie deaf and old people) and any young jack ass to drive a car.

This also shuts up people and covers up the fact most governments have an appalling record on public transportation. Where as if you made it so more people couldn't drive there would be more people that realised that public transportation is shit and it needs fixing.

And if they do something stupid and kill someone how does that person that is killed get to go back to leading a normal life?

I'm all for freedom but people always forget that each and every freedom comes with responsibility. Speeding and over taking people does not result in anything. People don't realise that passing some one who drives slowly doesn't do squat unless you can hold that higher speed for a long time. In most cases you don't actually solve anything by over taking people. You certainly don't achieve anything by driving drunk or driving aggressive so why do it? Why ignore all the facts that say it's dumb t do those things? If you fail at basic comprehension then you shouldn't be driving. Keep in mind it's not a right it's a privilege.

You wouldn't want a murderer to be able to buy a gun or allow a drunk pilot to fly a 747 so why should someone with the same careless mentality be bale to get behind the wheel of a car?

We should realise that driving is dangerous and it's not a right. So when you hit a certain age you should be tested on a regular basis because the fact is old people do start losing their ability to react, remember things among other problems.

To be quite honest I'd like to say that once you hit 65 you lose your licence full stop but that probably won't happen especially while the ageing population is growing but I think you'd find that would help a lot.

And younger people who drive dangerously should lose their licence for life. Having an accident is fine but there is zero reason for being a road raging retard.

He looks like a caracter who is generally unlucky. He's not peculiarly snug. He ends up being likeable, partly because he comes as the underdog. On the other side there's the "mac" character which too much radiate a "I'm so cool, I'm so hip !" style which makes him unnerving. After the few first couple of ads, I mostly only want to punch him in the face.

I think by having a comedy actor impersonate the PC in a humorous way backfired at least with some viewers like me. They should have gone with a pompous condescending bastard kind of character.

But I don't think it was Apple's intention to say that one is better than the other. They made out that Windows is more for work and Mac is more for fun.

I think that was part of the reason the PC guy isn't a complete twat.

Also by making it a more friendly ad where they're saying that each system does different things they make the mac guy more likeable because he's not trying to be uber cool and dissing his enemy.

Without getting into a reason why the fact is a windows box is more insecure so those comments are justifiable. Mac, imo, do have better performance too but that's through Apple's Nazi like control. Their systems aren't are open which most people, sadly, don't care about.

Mentioning it afterwards is like Lucas going in and adding bits from the new Star Wars movies into the old ones. It just reeks of the author rubbing their own ego.

If the character is honestly gay then no mentioning it means she doesn't care about gay rights because as long as people give into backwards parents then society will never move forward and yes this isn't the biggest issue facing gay people but if people can't even tackle the little issues how can you tackle the large ones?

The fact that the Harry Potter books are sexual books means that maybe it irrelevant and thus doesn't need to be mentioned in the books but that makes bringing it up later pointless and, as I suspect, nothing but self promotion for the author.

As someone else mention a manager shouldn't have to manage his employees as much as he should have to manage his superiors and or their expectations. It is beneficial to have an idea about the job so you can easily tell if your underlings are doing what they should so you don't have to be a nosey manager and so you can work with people outside of IT without telling them things that are untrue (because you're clueless) or without you having to constantly go back to your underlings for an answer which makes you just look like a middle man and mostly worthless.
