I'm not sure if they use a spark to ignite a gas turbine, but once it is lit it is self sustaining. Plugs last a long time when you only use them once or twice a day. IC engines need one spark per power stroke, ie. once every other revolution, for each cylinder. Diesel engines ignite on compression and never need a spark.
Once the clearances have opened up abrasive damage stops. This happens within the first 10K miles. Oil will last practically forever if you change the filter regularly and replace the additive package occasional. I knew a Tribologist that sent samples from his car in for analysis when he did routine testing for his company. He said his company never needed to replace the oil in their large industrial gearboxes (unless something went wrong, like a seal leak or contamination) and by the same criteria he had never changed the oil in his car in 15 years. Changing the filter is essential though; his gearboxes were regularly pumped through filtering machines to remove metal wear particles and oil breakdown products. It is quite expensive to replace and dispose of a hundred gallons of oil per gearbox, esp. when you have several hundred gearboxes.
I had a head crash on an RK07 drive. The head scraped the platter clean like it had been (poorly) machined. The iron oxide got into the drive bearings and their seizure is what ultimately stopped the drive spinning. I am pretty sure the NSA couldn't recover anything, even today.
Unions, esp. public service unions, overwhelmingly support Democrats. Your support buys you nothing if your guy doesn't win. Having won, the republicans are attacking the unions as a means to attack contributions to their political opponents. Along with restricting voter registration and trying to make the act of voting difficult and perhaps dangerous to the underclass, this is just another example of Republicans trying to win via gaming the system rather then garnering real support for their policies.
I count 9 computers (not counting phone or toys) here at my home desk, and I don't even code. I think a developer could afford more then one. I built one recently for about $150, ran linux just fine.
Looking just at my interest in music, I would say that I have downloaded everything ever published that I am likely to ever have interest in. I think the music industry should make their entire catalog available "free for personal use" and collect ad revenue. They could charge a premium for new releases and milk the discount curve until it is moved onto the archive, after say a year. They could still try selling commemorative sets and artist collections; things that make nice gifts. The only problem I see with this model is that they haven't released anything I would pay for in the last three years.
So your saying the TSA is a counter coup to the one by the CIA in 1963? Maybe not "counter", just different. Did the top level bureaucrats benefit handsomely?
AFAIK, SMS rides on the cell control network. I assume it works by sending SMS control messages to devices on the network. It shouldn't surprise anybody that you can break things via SMS, it is surprising that it isn't more common. Anyone know if there is an open standard for the control structure?
I was a paratrooper. Those great technical skills you are talking about consist of: Walking in a horizontal line Walking in a vertical line Walking in a wedge shape. Not walking on the road. We were often lost, so no points for navigation. Worse if dropped in by chopper.
I remember being trained on using an M16 in basic training. They took a couple of hours going over the 10 minutes of info they actually had to present. Then we spent an hour shooting them. The most difficult part was disassembly and cleaning, which was most of the 10 minutes. I could teach you how to operate one in less then a minute. The only mention of "consequences of use" was the instructor demonstrating the lack of recoil by firing with the butt against his crotch. You live in a much kinder world the I seem to.
And what about the day when you log in to your account and discover you have posted pictures of yourself doing illegal things, and that you have ongoing conversations with criminals and terrorists. You can yell your innocence all you want, but can you "prove" those weren't your posts? The fact that I don't have a facebook account offers me no real protection if HBG or someone else decides to make one for me, all transacted off of my apparent IP address.
I know what kind of government a revolution here in SC would produce. That is sufficient to keep me at home. I would esp. dislike the mandatory church attendance and the complete ban on alcohol. The politeness laws would be ok though.
"studs" are 2'x4'x96", it is the length tat makes it a "stud".

Defrag was pretty good too. Who knew the Cancel button could be so useful.
Just make it illegal to (re)sell copyrighted works. Anything else is unrealistic and greedy.
I believe the going price, based on actual cash value of any politician, is fifty cents.
Under a Libertarian system, who would have the authority to grant incorporation?

Why should we throw away communications freedom just to support an industry pricing plan?
Why not? They are already paid for.

We can only wish.
