    see all that fancy stuff vmware does with its VMs and hypervisors? I'm thinking much of that will be commodity in 3 years. linux will be the backbone a lot of IT companies due to it being the hypervisor to their windows installs.

    I was so excited to get my sexy VZW Blackberry World Edition phone cause it had GPS. To later learn that the GPS is gimped and VZW wont let it talk to 3rd party apps.

    Hopefully this gets me 'good enough' placement on the map.

    Disclaimer: its a TV show. I understand that.

    What I really like about that show is that unlike most 'psychics', they go into a 'haunted' house trying to DISprove a haunting. If they have a 'personal experience' they note it, but it doesnt count. Audio holds a little creedence, but not a ton. Video evidence holds much more, but only if they cant reproduce what they say - and they try to.

    wanna bet? I set up a "bofa@[mydomain]" address when I first signed up with them. that address still gets spam to this day.
    they specifically said that they traded email addresses with 'trusted partners'. apparently the trusted partners are where the address got sold off from.

    bofa2@mydomain has yet to get any spam since then.

    I really dont think its as big of a deal as a lot of people are making it out to be. Here's an example of how it worked in XP:

    "User swaps the motherboard and CPU chip for an upgraded one, swaps the video adapter, adds a second hard drive for additional storage, doubles the amount of RAM, and swaps the CD ROM drive for a faster one.

    Result: Reactivation is NOT required."

    Again you'd have to change so much hardware, it would be no different than installing on a new machine. And you can just call them and they give you a new key in just a few minutes... not a big deal.

    oh yea, the 90' tall behemoth is scared of the 5' tall guy with the club. (those numbers represent the rough desktop % usage).


    look, I think apple is doing some awesome stuff, but dont think for a minute that MS is frightened from a couple of things apple is doing. yes, they'll copy them. and to 75% of the users in the world - when MS introduces feature X as a new feature (the one that apple has had for 4 years), all those people will be awe struck cause of that cool new feature that has never existed before.

    Why bootcamp when you can run in a VM (aside from games)? Anandtech has a nice review of the macbook, and running windows in a window, as well as dual booting. Seems performance is quite good, even with the beta!
