Missing ALT tag? Oh, boohoo!
These are such nits you are picking. Minor bugs that can be fixed in a few seconds. Instead of sending a polite bug report, you decided to pull a tantrum on slashdot.
GTK2 is not neutral software, it's GNOME software. How can you stand that useless file dialog?
At least the KDE core is usable for real work and development. The professional and modern looks are a bonus. I run KDE 3.1.1a on an ancient computer. You are really overblowing the large footprint, it works great!
SuSE and Red Hat are the last professional distributions left in my opinion. I'm not very impressed with Mandrake overall. They seem to be a bunch of amateurs.
SuSE's offerings are just plain mouth-watering. Red Hat is a bit of a controversial choice with overboard desktop nullification but the core is very good. SuSE's desktop is AWESOME.
When it comes to package managers, SuSE also has much better network updates and doesn't require a paid subscription like Red Hat. The paid subscription is major bummer indeed.
People should know that I am The Real Mike is a GNOME troll who goes under the name of Mike Hearn and is under a quest to sully the name of KDE.
Why doesn't he talk about the GNOME-related flame ways on the desktop-devel list instead? Is he blind? No... it's just about bashing KDE instead of understanding the issues.
You prove my point. It's ironic how only the GNOME lovers like what Red Hat did to KDE. F*ck Mosfet, they chased out BERO, the main man behind KDE from Red Hat and hired a GNOME developer instead.
I don't give a damn about themes but turning KDE into a broken version of GNOME is ridiculous.
Red Hat is harming KDE by its actions, so why shouldn't it suffer? If anything, people should complain *more* until Red Hat understands that it will pay for its actions.
Please provide more balanced coverage of KDE on your site.
If you demand it of SuSE, why don't you practice it here? Maybe enough with the "GNOME is preferred", "GNOME is better"? If GNOME is so good, why doesn't the default work well? If you can say "GNOME is preferred", why shouldn't SuSE say "KDE is preferred"? Fair is fair.
In Red Hat, all KDE wants is to not be *purposely* crippled. A default set-up of KDE in Red Hat would make *everyone* except GNOME lovers happy. A default set-up of GNOME makes GNOME people mad.
This is a bogus test (moderate me down as you want you fuckers) but Safari has not yet fully implemented all the features that are in KHTML especially as related to XML.
This is because KHTML uses the Qt XML API and safari does not.
Blizzard is nothing but a political double-talker, his propaganda laden piece is exhausting. It's sad to see developers reduced to this.
He knocks KHTML several times, supposedly because Mozilla renders web pages so much better and KHTML sucks or so he has heard. I have been using KHTML for several years as my only browser and I can say that he couldn't be further from the truth.
On the other hand I constantly hear (ha!) of rendering screw ups by Mozilla. Just the other day a friend showed me how Mozilla completely distorted the rendering of fonts on/.
Blizzard says Mozilla renders not only the webpage but the whole user interface of the browser. I'm sorry, but I never heard of a dumber excuse for incompetence.
Another thing you've got to remember is that Blizzard is a Red Hat/GNOME partisan. That should put it in context.
I know there are many complaints about this, but think about all the *advantages* of this move.
Users really don't give a damn whether they are running bash or csh. What they want is a shell that works. If the user is clueful enough to want to original behaviour, then she can damn well compile her own shell.
Andromeda is total shite. It has become Hercules in Space and any depth to the show was destroyed when they fired Wolfe.
The reason Wolfe was fired was because Sorbo (Hercules) thought that he was too smart and that the Andromeda should be made more episodic and less about science-fiction and story arcs. Now it's about Dylan Hunt, Hercules of space.
The cool characters like Rev Bem, Tyr, Trance, etc have been discarded or destroyed in favour of Sorbo.
I am glad that these misinformations are not allowed to persist. It's tragic when someone else sets out on a PR war crusade against an Open Source project with the only goal of causing damage and mistrust.
Thank you Tim, Kalle and Slashdot for your efforts to combat this.
That's bullshit when Red Hat rewrote the whole GNOME desktop instead of joining KDE. They had to do it worse too, with the whole thing based on a C and CORBA mess.
So GNOME steals other programs and is poorly integrated. That's a good thing?
Ever heard of DCOP? This is DCOP++.

Good for you.

This has already been discussed, look better and here. Thats the beauty of opensource. It gets better.

Oh, and I forgot. Why don't you mention that GNOME developers are standing in the way of D-BUS and desktop interoperability?

Sun has given GNOME credibility vs. KDE et al where it had almost none before.
If the X server isn't set right, it's Woody that's the problem not KDE.
Everybody already said it, just had to change the title.
Try KDE 3.1. It flies and is quite usable even on pathetic hardware.

The Easter Eggs are everywhere, not just at the end. The dragon one had a well-hidden one for example, where you get to see a scene with Homsar.
Mozilla developing fast? Whatever... live in your dream land. It's still the same piece of crap on my desktop now as it was a year ago. Ugh.
Correction: The API is probably the same, the backend is not.

I meant I'm using Konqueror as my browser, not pure KHTML. :/

Cellphone users should *definitely* be strip-searched. God are they annoying.

Me likes. Go Red Hat!

What RMS is doing his best to ignore is that these restrictions are lifted if you (gasp!) buy a commercial license.
I realise what point he is trying to make, but I think it is unfair of him to cloud the issue like that.

ok, enough already. haven't we heard enough of this propaganda? seriously.
