Every single video store I know of in the area surrounding me rents DVDs along with VHS tapes. All DVD rentals are the same price as the same title in VHS. It's really not a big deal to rent either. I do it all the time.
Multiply that by two, because not only are they spending their time working on audits, but their regular work is piling up. That's 400k worth of audit and 400k worth of lost work time. Total $800k.
We had to do "community service" to be in NHS at my high school. Of course, this community service was chosen by the leaders and was not a voluntary activity.
Chances are it was rigged just like it was at my school. Whenever the "in" group thought it would be funny for some nerd to win....low and behold guess who won.
Since when has microsoft used decimals in their version numbering let alone coherent numbering at all. The deepest numbers I remember were 3.11 and 6.22, but those were many years ago. Lately it's just 95, 98, 2000, etc.

I really don't think we need to worry about foreigners learning correct English grammar when the VAST majority of natively born U.S. citizens have horrible grammar. Hell, just look at nearly any college term paper, website, chat session, even newspaper for that matter. I must say that most of the foreigners I know have much better grammar skills than (U.S.) Americans.
Yeah, but my car doesn't have one. Why? because it rusted through and I'm too cheap to spend $150 on a new one. Sure, new vehicles have installed environmental features, but what happens when these vehicles age? The systems are removed as people don't want to pay to fix non-essential systems.
Actual loss isn't anywhere near that amount. Perhaps you're thinking of the difference between real power and reactive power where your numbers make a little more sense.
In a situation like that, it costs far more for a company to pay an IT worker to swap RAM chips than it does to buy quality, top-of-the-line components the first time around. Not to mention, mission-critical systems should NEVER use crappy hardware.
I'm working at Michigan State University, and I get about half payment by wage and half payment in tuition.
Yes, and the P4 is designed to go into machine rooms where speed and execution power are important.
The Crusoe was designed to go into laptops...a completely different realm.
Sorry to say, I won't get a tax cut. Perhaps if I made twice my current wage I would.
Yeah, but four years is a long time to get bent over.
As of 2:18amEST, accoring to CNN, we're fucked.
What I wanna know is how you land a job at VS, because I'm quite interested.
Hmmm, I think I'm gonna have to verify the integrity of the image databases again....I'll be back in a few.

What about case ground? Isn't this a little difficult with a wooden case?

This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the Slashdot topics! Damnit! Keep it on topic. Ask slashdot has been completely worthless lately.

I think I've made my point.
I think you mean principle, unless you have some weird gaming relationship with that dude who runs the school.

Actually, PERL is much friendlier on globals.
Here's the actual link if you'd care to read the article.
But....Dikatana....was....on....the....list.
Same here, there really isn't any enforcement in Michigan.

Yes they are, if they aren't DOA like mine was. I'm going on week 6 and still haven't gotten it replaced.
