RHCE is a good idea in the commercial market for the simple fact that corporations love training courses. Linux won't be recognized as a valid OS in "average" (pronounced: non-tech) industries until employees can be trained. In the corporate mind, Linux can't be "equal" to Novell and Microsoft's shitty products until a tech can be Linux "certified". It gives 'em that warm, tingly feeling.

Moderate this up! The guy's got a good point. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. There's a big difference between sending a complete, detailed bug report and simply bitching about a lack of features or abundence of bugs. Virtually any user is capable of saying, "I was doing this, typing in this data, and clicked here; then, I got the following error message....." Slackers need to stop whining and start contributing _something_; even if it's only bug reports, or mirroring the download site, or reviewing documention. Projects are multi-level endevours that require work in many different areas so nearly everyone can contribute something.

I wouldn't doubt if (1) Only "MS-Approved" vendors are allowed to see the source / API, and (2) those approved vendors will have to adhere to Non-disclosure agreements. The more things change.....

Don't delete the sponsorship messages! Yes, it's open source which gives you the ability to remove the tags just like you have the ability to run "rm -f CREDITS" on every tarball you extract. Aside from the ability to modify the source, the beauty of open source lies in the fact that ALL CONTRIBUTORS GET CREDIT! If a project had corporate backing, then the corporation should get credit for the part they helped do. I know I'd be pissed off if someone used my code without giving me credit, or if there was a renegade patch running around that REMOVED my line in the credits.

Okay, so maybe not those things, but the freezing and refrideration of food has had a great impact on the development of society. Frozen food is much more resiliant to disease and easier to transport larger distances. Cheaper and More available food directly relates to an increase in population. Although debatable whether an increase in human population is good, one cannot doubt that refridgeration has significantly contributed to the development of society.
