Actually it's the higher ups that are the ones guilty of violating the constitution. You can't call somebody a treasonous baby if the people in power tell you to do something. Most of these folks are doing a job, day in and day out trying to do what's right for themselves, their families and the US. No, the blame needs to be placed on those fuckwads in congress, the feinbitches and the administration for allowing this to happen. We got here because of fear, fear of terrorists, fear of other nations and our rights have been allowed to erode because of the myopic actions of our elected officials. Obama isn't wholly responsible for this but he's a liar on multiple fronts, just like his predecessor and all those that came before them. Also those Senators and Congressmen who've blindly voted in legislation without reading it, they're the treasonous babies because it's much more important to get re-elected than it is to do the right thing for the country. The right thing in this case would be to defend the constitution and our rights before trampling on them in the name of doing something quickly to placate the fear mongers we have in this nation.

Eagles are magnificent and protected for a reason. Wind Farms should be able to develop technology that keeps them away from the turbines. This is a Market Opportunity folks, somebody should be able to come up with like the little bird vinyl stickers you can buy to keep birds from hitting your windows.

Maybe train other Eagles to avoid the Wind Mills and chase other Eagles away? I don't know but there should be a better way than saying "Meh, it's okay kill the Eagles."

  8. Gartner, IDC they all have an agenda to push on In Three Years, Nearly 45% of All the Servers Will Ship To Cloud Providers · · Score: 3, Informative

That agenda is pushing dumbass CIOs into making bad decisions. Cloud Services, Co-Lo Hosting and the services wrapped around them are good tools to have at your disposal but like any tool if you don't know how to use them you can leave your organization high and dry. IDC and Gartner have a vested interest in selling Cloud and their associated third party service vendors to businesses since they're market makers. They're no different that your stock broker calling you up trying to sell a stock that's on their "hot sheets" to drive revenue. Companies pay these idiots for their "research" which is usually some guy sitting down and reading Internet articles and going to conferences where they hear long sales pitches from CSC, Rackspace and Amazon. None of this replaces a good set of people and an Enterprise Architecture strategy that the organization needs to develop and own.

What IDC misses here is two of the big cloud players, Google and Amazon, are growing their own servers so IDC's true "insight" should be that HP, Dell and IBM are going to lose server revenue more not from larger bulk deals with cloud providers but the fact that the bigger players are just going to buy components. Also companies aren't writing blank checks to their IT organization anymore. This means those big budget projects where you roll in racks of servers will be pushed more and more to virtualization. There's also the aspect that there are a lot of businesses who will never let their data or their customers data fall into the hands of any third party, even a hosting provider and they will still need servers and disk and products because year after year their existing footprint gets older and you need more capacity and to refresh your infrastructure.

I imagine there's a lot of duplication in his list. Having worked in software in automotive electronics for a short time awhile back (MSFT AutoPC... don't ask..) I can tell you that vulnerability testing wasn't considered until very late in the game and then the customer decided that it wasn't needed. Of course this was 13 years ago.
