The most inhospitable environments on Earth are orders of magnitude easier to survive in than even the most inviting environments in the rest of the solar system.
First let's colonize the inside of a volcano, then Venus will be easy.
Obamacare has not made insurance more affordable, not even for "low paid working stiffs".
It certainly has. I had to drop my catastrophic-only insurance coverage around 2008 because it was just too expensive even for the limited coverage. Now with the medicaid expansion I've got full socialized medicine.
The original ballot measure was only $10 billion in seed money and not intended to fund the entire project. And it was not written with any sort of termination clause.
It really is the same thing. When you look at the world around you, you're using the sun to shoot photons at everything which then bounce off the object into your eyes.
Even 10 years ago, Ubuntu wasn't the easiest to install or use. MEPIS was better on those criteria, but was a one man project without any marketing money.
If the person didn't think about buying the item theirself, they may not be the proper intended audience for the item. What someone who doesn't need an X will say about X is different from what someone who needs X will say about it.
Us less-communicative, non-rich people pay per text on pay as you go plans to save money. At 10 cents a text/minute, my bill works out to $5-$10 per month.
In the worst case the driverless car has to pull to the side, stop and wait. In a better case, the police broadcast a signal which tells it to override normal rules and turn around.
Poverty in modern America means that you're skipping behind in health maintenance, and you're not saving for retirement because the alternative is that you and your kids don't eat. And you're more likely to either not have health insurance, or have a plan which fail you when you need it most.
Actually, poor people in America now have decent government health insurance provided for free. It's the middle class who have to pay for private coverage.
While a fault from one point of view, it's also a benefit in that congress runs smoother when the neo nazis and anarchists and marxists aren't represented in it.

If you want to see how peaceful an American is, it's easier: just burn their flag and most of them want to throw you in jail. Or become an abortion doctor (safer in Tunisia).
That's not compensation, it's just a first-one's-free advertisement for their overpriced on demand movies service.

Mars One is obviously not legitimate, and SpaceX is not currently funding missions to Mars just thinking about the future.

At least in California, I believe you're legally required to list any needed maintenance before signing any sales paperwork whether they ask or not.
So you broke the law by selling a car without providing a list of the known problems with it. Or you live in a rare jurisdiction without such a law.
So what about those who are thin and poor? Do we pretend they don't exist and try to force them into a weight loss diet?
You got two years younger while writing the post. Impressive.

The USA was night fighting the cold war out of love for Franco's fascist Spain.
So that's why he decided to widely publicize a blog shouting "I'm living in the parking lot!"?
Just 5 years ago there's no way we'd be celebrating 20 years of open bsd on slashdot.
Seriously? Even Haiku releases get celebrated here.

Why should I spend $30,000 on a depreciating asset and devote 200 sq ft of space towards housing it.
